A: Solar cell requires 8-12 hours of direct sunlight. Shade or heavy foliage will slow charge times. Switch should be in the (O) as in off - (I) means on .

This umbrella does the job, even though its fabric is not as nice as Sunbrella. This umbrella has tiers that allow wind to flow through, but is not impervious to wind and needs to be folded down when not in use. We did not do that and found it on the roof and broken after a breezy day.

The color was perfect match for our decor and home color. As for wind we have not had much of any yet to see how that is. Our big downfall is the solar lights. At a direct sunlight charge of 3 full days on our deck it sits on that is always direct sunlight.We get only max 3 ours and by 2 and half hours in its dimming quickly and by hour three of them on its dead. We read researching online on solar umbrella light's and its a wide gap in whats said they Should last from 4 to 12 hours. Unfortunately we only get 3 hours max. 😔

The only problems are that the lights continually blink , the I/O switch does nothing and I have difficulty closing it without getting my head caught inside.
