Q: Are the lights on one continuous cord between sections or cords that connect to each other? I'd like to sometimes use just the lower sections (as a body) without the top part.

A: Yes, lights are interconnected using centrally located extension cord which the sections are plugged into.

A: Lights are wired in series, meaning if one bulb burns out, other lights will remain lit. However, if bulb socket/s are loose, entire strand will not light.

Great for the price. The top section is fuller than the mid and bottom sections so I had to buy some filler picks to hide the hinges as best I could. But I like the tree, easy to assemble and would recommend if you’re looking for a white pencil tree at a reasonable cost.
