Q: What other ingredients are needed with the box to make this? Milk? Water? Oil? Would be nice to see the cooking instructions before I buy it!
submitted by RonLugge - 4 years ago
A: This box requires 1/2 cup of milk and 2 tbsp of butter. It will also require 2 cups of hot water if prepared on the stovetop, and 2 3/4 cups of hot water if prepared in the microwave.

We have tried these twice since the new box came out, we barely get two servings, they shrink and then burn. Terrible!

These were the family’s fav scalloped potatoes but something has gone horribly wrong. Even the mix before cooking it doesn’t smell the same. A shame to loose a fam fav. but no one wants to eat this version. The packaging says new look, but the recipe has also changed (now more cheese is also on the package, that can’t be only change).

When did Betty Crocker decide profits were more important than quality product? New unannounced portion size is barely half what is was last time I bought but price went up? It’s really sad that a product Americans buy regularly and have fond memories of has gone so far down hill. Your corporation should be ashamed of itself for embarrassing the brand to turn a few more dollars. More of the same billionaire price gouging, nothing to see here!

The new recipe for your potatoes is disappointing. Not only is it a smaller portion it does not taste good. I won't buy anymore unless you go back to original recipe and size.

I also have trouble with b.c. Augratins. They are runny and don’t ever soften up enough even though I cooked them 10 mins. Longer. They used to be so good.

I have been making these potatoes for over 20 years but in the last couple of years they come out runny and not thick and creamy like they used to. What has been changed?

I used to love au gratin and scalloped potatoes from Betty Crocker but the changes you have made to them have made them horrible. My large extended family all agree on this. Sometimes the changes that are made to save money are not the best way to go.

I like the flavor, but the sauce is too runny and doesn’t set up. My guests spoon it on their plates and it runs all over their other food. I have made this many times and it always runs. I have decreased the liquid, doesn’t work, The only solution is to put it in the fridge and microwave it the next day as leftovers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Betty Crocker Au Gratin potatoes are delicious. They are a great compliment to many protein dishes. Just a couple of ingredients and into the oven. They come out cheesy and bubbly. This is a hubby's fav. I like them because they are so easy to put together and looks like you do so much more!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to make but tastes processed and fresh augratin potatoes would taste much better. May think about producing same product in a frozen variety for better taste.
