The Bird B Gone scare balloon is made from a weather-resistant vinyl plastic and is about the size of a standard beach ball. There is a mock predator eye printed several times around the sides of the balloon, surrounded by a shiny reflective surface. Seemed to work while inflated, but in just a couple of days it lost so much air as to be essentially useless.

Scares some of the birds but not the Turkey Vultures. They land right next to the balloon, I'm a bit disappointed
1 reply from birdbgone team - 5 years ago
Hello Steve, We're sorry to hear that the Scare Eye Balloon did not work too well to deter the vultures. The Scare Eye Balloon works best on smaller birds like pigeons, sparrows, starlings, and more. Although, Vultures are large and difficult to deter, you can find recommended products for this species at the following link (birdbgone.com/bird/vulture-buzzard-control). Please do not hesitate to reach our team of Bird Control Experts at 1-800-392-6915.

I bought three of these at West Marine to protect my dock. Prior to hanging them between the uprights of the dock, the SeaGulls and Pelicans were having quite a social life (and leaving the smelly remnants of the that social). Immediately upon installing these, I have had no winged visitors. Unfortunately, the product is flimsy, made of nothing more than beach ball material. One of the three was flat within 24 hours. All in all, they are very inexpensive and highly effective.
They work!

I placed the scare balloons in the corners of the end columns to deter the Martins that like to build their nests there. From day one no nests, no bird poop, no mess! I have been fighting the Martins for years. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have found a product that keeps them away and doesn't harm them.

The scare balloon and metallic flutter strips worked like a dream. We had woodpeckers damaging our shop one day and once balloon was hung they were no where to be found. Excellent product and this was second time I've purchased a kit so that my entire home is protected!!

Perfect. The problem stopped immediately. The balloon doesn't make a thud when it blows against the house like the plastic owl will do. No more woodpecker!

So far the birds have disappeared. I am really impressed. Thank you. Who would have thought 2 balloons would scare off the birds. So much for so little.

The big, scarey balloon, together with the plastic red-tailed hawk, have solved my problem. I don't know which is more effective but the balloon is pretty impressive.
