Birdfy Dual HD Camera Mounted 12" Hummingbird Feeder White: Weather-Resistant, UV-Protected, Easy to Assemble

This is my second Birdfy product. I also have the birdhouse, which (when working correctly), I have loved for its functionality and its general build quality. I have continued to add camera birdfeeders to my backyard and this seemed like a great option to get up close and personal with hummingbirds. Overall, I like the design and some of the thoughtful touches in terms of how to refill and clean the feeder. As you know, it can quickly become messy with anything around hummingbird nectar. So the fact that they include cleaning tools and overall design this for longevity is good. It's not as well built as my Birdfy birdhouse, which is very solid. But it's definitely a step above your typical hummingbird feeder (although that's a relatively low bar). The two camera design is great in concept. Like with the birdhouse, it's great to have more of the location covered from different angles. But here's the issue. Despite many, many attempts, I cannot get the device to connect to my wifi. I have a dedicated 2.4 GHz SSID that has been great for other 2.4-only smarthome devices I have. But despite literal dozens of attempts and restarts, the Birdfy app just will not complete the process of adding the cameras to my network. And this is while the feeder is sitting on my countertop 10 feet from the access point with a literal line of sight. I'm using a new Ubiquiti network -- and like I said, other 2.4 GHz picky devices are happily connected. I similarly had many issues with my original Birdfy birdhouse, before getting it connected with several hours of tehir tech support. And even after, it was a bit flaky and is now offline again. So because of this, the feeder is a disappointment. At the price they charge, you are clearly paying of the smart functions. And I have access to none of them. It's too bad, because the visual quality of their cameras and the experience is overall really awesome. But for now, it's now no more functional than the $20 feeder I'd grab off the shelf at my local hardware store.

LOVE this feeder! It's well-designed so it's easy to set up, easy to fill, and easy to clean. It comes with the solar panel, so you don't have to charge it frequently. The silicone parts inside keep drips to a minimum. The two camera views make it unique from other camera feeders. You can see the same bird from different angles. I can't tell if my photos came through OK, but the image quality is excellent.
