Works great for sanding some furring strips and other boards that I purchased as part of a project. I've spent easily 20 hours using it with no complaints. I especially like the paddle switch operation so that as soon as I let go it turns off.

I have this exact sander and it has lasted me roughly 8 years, the original box is dated from 2015, I am a typical homeowner who uses it for projects, both automotive and wood refinishing. I think I’m going to buy another one as my original was a real trooper!
Poor Sander Design

Pad mounting holes broke off. When I turned the device over, there were heat scorch marks where the 4 screws mount the pad to the sander. Replacement pad costs as much as new sander. Very poor design

This is a very affordable sander. I am a ho by woodworker and use it fairly often on small projects. The first one died and this is the replacement. Overall it’s price is good and worth the price for a low levels of work.

I bought this sander to remove chalk paint and varnish from a wooden bench. Worked great in the beginning but as other reviews mention, the hooks become weak and dirty and the sandpaper disk flies off at a high rate of speed! I do not recommend using this product, especially if others are in the area that your sanding in!
Inexpensive but not cheap!

Bought this product after checking the prices of some other “major brands”. Great buy and does everything I need it to do and more. I would definitely recommend.

One of my first purchases as a new woodworker trying to slowly upgrade tools. Works well for what it is intended to. Dust collection is good. Been using it for about 6 months now. Has started to make a squealing noise dont know where it is from but still works.

I bought this for really heavy use sanding and smoothing end grain cutting boards which are extremely sanding intensive. It’s held up to the abuse no problem and has pretty decent suction on it’s little dust port. Very satisfied with the product quality at this price point.
Would not buy again.

I bought the sander mostly because of the name of Black and Decker. I have had many of their tools over the years and they have been fine. The hook and loop wheel on the sander will not hold the sanding disks and wears off the back on the disks which really shortens the life of the disk. I used 20 disks for a job that should have taken 3-4 disks. I was going to replace the hook and loop wheel and 2 wheels cost more that a new sander.

I bought my second one approximately 1 month ago and the hooks that hold the discs are gone. Last time I will ever buy black and decker.

Used this sander less than two hours total. Smelled something burning and then the bottom went flying off. Very hot to the touch, plastic melted. Doesn't seem to be very good quality.
