Let me preface by saying that Blood Sisters is hands down the best book I’ve read this year! Lillie’s latest release is nothing short of BRILLIANT and unlike anything I’ve read before! It was so fun and interesting to learn about the indigenous peoples of Northeastern Oklahoma. You can tell that Lillie put a great amount of effort and time into researching and getting all of the details just right. I’ve always been a fan of a slow-burning thriller, but the craft was perfected in this work! From the tribal history of the Native people in Picher, Oklahoma to the deep introduction of all the characters within the storyline, we are set up early on for a whirlwind of thrilling suspense. Syd Walker is the character of all characters. She oozes confidence and determination while mixing in a little of that badass persona. When she is called back Oklahoma to uncover the truth behind a skull found near her childhood home, Syd discovers that her sister, Emma Lou, has gone missing. Despite all the obstacles that stand between her and the truth, she fights tooth-and-nail to ensure that this case doesn’t go ignored as so many have in the past. As I got closer and closer to uncovering the mystery, I couldn’t stop flipping the pages. The suspense had me so on edge, keeping me awake long into the night to finish. I can’t even explain how vivid Lillie’s descriptions of the Oklahoma setting were. You just have to see for yourself! As a reader, I felt so immersed into the plot. The pictures flowing through my mind were absolutely spectacular. Blood Sisters isn’t just a novel; it’s an entire experience, and is definitely a must-read!
