Q: Can the talking part be turned off easily so it doesn’t make any noise?

A: Yes, I have her and if you open her back she has a box inside where you can switch out the batteries, turn her on or off, as well as put her on "try me" mode.

Does not work in on mode. Will work on try me mode but does not have all the phrases. Item was given as a gift and is now past return period. So we're stuck with a broken toy and no solution. I would love to have a way to exchange it
