Q: is this the same thing as gum arabic? I'm wondering if it would work for watercolor binder and if its the same thing with just a different name, or not.

A: Xanthan Gum is different from gum arabic. Xanthan Gum is a binding agent however we have not tested it as a binding agent for watercolors so you may need to try a small test batch to see if it works.

Q: What are the ingredients ?
submitted by Jane - 4 years ago
A: Xanthan gum is a popular food additive that's commonly added to foods as a thickener or stabilizer. It's created when sugar is fermented by a type of bacteria called Xanthomonas campestris. When sugar is fermented, it creates a broth or goo-like substance, which is made solid by adding an alcohol.
