Q: How do I put the batteries in ?
A: Thank you for your question! The SCHIUMA Milk Frother uses two AA batteries for operation, which are inserted at the base of the device. To install them, remove the battery cap by gripping the rubberized edge and pulling until the tabs disengage. Then, using the graphic instructions inside the battery compartment as a guide, align the positive and negative ends of the batteries correctly and slide them in. Secure the cap by aligning the curved edge with the curve of the base and pressing firmly until the tabs snap back into place. To operate, gently press the power switch away from the curved edge of the base. Hope this helps!

Q: Can I use this with milk and Carnation instant breakfast to mix them together?
A: Thank you for your question! We recommend only using the SCHIUMA for frothing milk or milk alternatives. Using the device to mix dry and wet ingredients can lead to build up on the whisk, which impacts performance, and can overwork the motor. Hope this helps!

Q: Can i use this in coffee I have added froth powder to?
A: Excellent question! The SCHIUMA has not been tested with milk that has frothing powder added to it, so we can’t say exactly what the results might be. However, we recommend using the frother with about 2-4oz of liquid at a time, as opposed to an entire cup of coffee, since the whisk isn’t designed for large volumes. Insert the whisk near the bottom of the vessel, push the power switch to the side (away from the curved edge of the base) to operate, and gently raise and lower the frother for 20-30 seconds to properly aerate the liquid. Please note that using additives with the liquid may clog the whisk, which can impact performance. We suggest cleaning the whisk thoroughly between each use. Thank you for your question!

Q: The lid on the battery cap pops off regularly. is this a factory defect or typical quality?
A: The cap of the Schiuma Milk Frother fits on the body of the device in one direction only. If you are experiencing issues with the lid coming off, check to see if the lid is being put on in the correct direction after the batteries are inserted.

Q: Does anyone else on/off button doesn't work, I have to pop the top every time I want to turn it off
A: This is not the typical function of this device. The Schiuma Milk Frother has a switch that slides back and forth along the wide axis of the device. Press down firmly and slide the switch until you feel a small click. Your device should then turn off.

Q: I just got mines today I put the batteries in but it does not get warm or hot is this normal?
A: This device does not have a heating element and is not designed to heat milk. You can create warm froth by heating milk before frothing in the microwave or on the stove before frothing.

Q: I washed it and haven't used it yet and it's not working at all. Are the batteries included? Trying to see how the bottom comes off to check if the batteries are inside but its not coming off at all.
A: Batteries are not included and this frother requires two AA batteries properly inserted to function. When removing the lid you can use the small lip on one side to help you easily lift it off. After correctly inserting the AA batteries ensure that the lid is properly aligned with the lip in the same place.
