Q: I wear a 6.5 in women so I bought these in a large. They were well over my ankle. Should I try medium or are these supposed to go to the ankles?

Purchased these for my son for school. It’s only been a month and already I had to throw 2 pairs away because of holes on the bottom. My son does wear socks around the house but these should have lasted longer than a month.
