Q: What is the clearance inside the shelf from the bottom to the top. I assume the 6.25in listed is from the bottom to the top surface of the shelf.

Q: I need to know the exact clearance space in the height, from bottom to underneath/inside top. It has to clear a receiver which is 5 3/4" (5.75) high so I need the inside clearance height to be 6 1/4" (6.25) high.

Terrible. Quality doesn’t equal price. A piece cracked down the center before it was assembled - it may have been cracked before I unboxed it. No longer interested in using it for the intended purpose - there’s a chance that my tv equipment may break when using this riser. The cost of my equipment is worth more than the price of this riser

So I'm definitely not using this stand for its intended purpose and I usually do not review products but I decided I had time to spare to write a review. This is a really good, compact, storage solution for books and nicknacks, and I'm sure it would definitely hold up a TV very well! But it also makes a really good foot rest. The wood finish is smooth, but not too slippery so it's very nice to prop your ankles on. The instructions were pretty simple and thorough, and it was comfortable to just lay over it because it could support my weight. I highly recommend it.

The wood is beautiful and once put together looked great and worked to hold our TV above the Bose. The cross piece was broken had to glue it together before assembling it. The plastic tips on the bottom came off when the shelf was put on top of cabinet.

TV riser has a small support bar underneath the top that reduces the height of available storage space underneath by about an inch, which seems to be typical of these risers. It is pretty easy to assemble--you will need a screwdriver. One part was defective and the company shipped me a new one, which I very much appreciate. I'm glad I bought it, it organizes the components very neatly and looks good. It's durable enough for the purpose.

Exactly what I was looking for. Only downside is that it arrives disassembled, but thankfully my boyfriend put it together for me (and it appeared to be easy enough). Item was larger than I expected, but it is still perfect. I was looking for something exactly like this as my cat has been laying on my cable box and I believe that there were two occasions where she had thrown up on the cable box disabling the box and causing me to replace the box twice. With this item, she is not able to lay on the cable box and the cable box is also protected if she throws up.

This was a great fit for my monitor and SO much more affordable than other "low profile" monitor stands I have found (which were upwards of $150-200 and often far to much for what I needed). I was worried that the color might not fully match my existing desk (it looks a bit more caramel than cherry in the photo), but it was a perfect match! It assembled very easily in just 15 minutes, and it came with every part needed, including glue for the dowels, in a neat little package. I have already looked at purchasing another one or two of these and/or the larger monitor stand for my desk to use as additional shelving space.

We did not buy the product for the intended purpose but rather to put on the floor under the stand we use for our large TV so we would have a place to set our DVD and controls.
