View your embroidery designs in color on the large, 3.7" Sew Smart color LCD touchscreen display. Expanded embroidery design editing features include the ability to change individual thread colors, place lettering in an arc, move designs on the touch screen display with the touch of a finger, and much more. Choose from 80 fresh, inspiring built-in embroidery designs or import your own designs through the USB port. Sewing features include 103 versatile built-in sewing stitches, needle up/down and variable speed controls, and a drop feed for creative free-motion sewing. Included are 7 quick-change sewing feet, with spring action zigzag, buttonhole, overcasting, monogramming, zipper, blind stitch, and button sewing feet. The spring action zigzag foot is designed with a longer foot, and, combined with the longer 7-point feed dogs, help provide smoother fabric feeding.

A: Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. The Brother LB5000 embroidery machine uses design files that are in either the .PES or .DST format. When searching for files online, make sure that they are in one of these two file formats. The LB5000 has the ability to adjust the size of the files built into the machine by using the menu options.

I've used brother sewing machine for many years and I am satisfied and loved the work I've created using it. I have invested in a few sewing machines actually and want to take my skills to the next level. I can not wait to purchase an embroidery machine. I know it will be just as good because my big brother never let me down.

I absolutely love my machine and I am still able to learn from it going on four years now. I need help with something though. I am venturing into downloading designs to embroider and I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing. I do not think your website is "dummy" friendly. Yes...I'm the dummy. Very disappointing trying to enhance what this machine can do yet not be able to figure out how to do it. Where is the software for me to download to my computer and be able to send what I purchase to my machine?

It's a good machine, easy to use, easy to understand. Would be good if I could connect a USB drive directly so there was no hassle with connecting the laptop for the embroidery designs. Also, the threader is pretty much useless, I took it off. But apart from that I can do everything I need including big embroidery designs. If I need to sew a heavy thick fabric or I need more space at the left side then I use another old sewing machine. By the way, I use it with electricity converter from 110 to 240 as I am in the UK.

It does technically work sometimes. That is true. But I've had this machine ruin more projects than I care to count. It tears apart bobbins, cannot wind a bobbin, self destructs randomly, doesn't embroider without destroying the material half way through, and a number of other problems. It isn't good for stretchy materials, it isn't good for denim. I don't think it really is good for anything, now I think about it. I'm having trouble currently doing a straight stitch in a straight line on a canvas type tote bag material. It likes to freeze up and snap the needle because it says my hand was under it. It also tells me the bobbin is out of thread when it is certainly not. Do not torture yourself with this.

Work area is too small for many projects, but the machine is a good first purchase. It teaches the basics. It should include software, but it doesn't.

This machine is awesome, I didn’t even read the directions and it was so simple to thread and use! I love the different stitches and the touch screen, and the embroidery function is super cool, you just pick what you want and it does it for you, I love this machine it is totally worth the price!

I have used my SE425 for many projects, I have made many presents for family and friends with it. I love all the features. I do quilting, embroidery, sewing on it. I have had mine for two years.

Great sewing machine. I am getting used to the feature of not using a foot pedal. I love how you can slow down or speed up the sewing machine with just using the slide bar. I did some samples of the embroidery attachment. Looks pretty good.

This is a great machine. It’s so easy to use and the support from Brothers is awesome. I am not new to sewing but I am new to machine embroidering. The machine is full of easy to follow instructions. Threading the machine is a no brainer and I love the automatic needle threading. You can’t go wrong with this machine.

Easy for a beginner, like me, to use right out of the box. Finished product is Great. I had our logo put into .pes format and have been embroidering it onto polo shirts. The machine has handled multiple fabric weights with no problems. We are using this machine exclusicely for embroidery and Love it.

Machine great , cost for program way to high. We do at home for hobby and gifts. Program priced for professional. This is not a pro machine perhaps you could come up with program for this little machine at a better price.

Even thought you sent me instructions to try to open Embroidery Design Boutique 1 CD I could never opened it. I don't know if it is posible for you to send me a new CD. Therefore I could never work with the Embroidery and my investment is a total loss.

When you say you can take it out of the box and use it, that is absolutely true. Very user friendly. Had a few problems and their book and videos helped me fix it. I love this machine. I would highly recommend if you are just starting out machine embroidering. Best machine for the price.
