Brother's LB5500S Star Wars inspired 2-in-1 Sewing and Embroidery machine allows you to embroider and sew easily. View the 135 built-in embroidery designs, 103 built-in sewing stitches, and 10 built-in lettering fonts for all your projects on the sharp 3.7" LCD display, which has easy on-screen editing. A sizable 6.4" x 4.0" work area and a generous embroidery area of 4" x 4" will assist in all your DIY projects. Harness the power of Star Wars with three unique interchangeable character faceplates, plus a decorative adhesive design for some out-of-this-world inspiration. When connected to a wireless network (wireless LAN enabled), the LB5500S lets you send files from your PC to your machine via Design Database Transfer (no USB required), so you can send and then stitch! This free downloadable software allows for easy data management for all your designs. You can also create and send designs through PE-Design 111/2 for added flexibility. A vital feature of the LB5500S is the new Artspira App. This new feature has embroidery patterns you can download, plus the ability to create embroidery patterns by drawing on your mobile device. The drawing tools embedded in the app include a pen (single/zigzag), shapes, and an eraser. You can draw line-art inspired designs up to 4" x 4" (100mm x 100mm) and then transfer them to your LB5500S wirelessly. The Artspira App lets you share your creations on many social media platforms as well. The LB5500S has an advanced needle threading system and an automatic thread cutter, sewing speeds up to 710 spm, and legendary Brother reliability, so creating your next customized project can be effortless.

I found it easy to use the LED screen is awesome and lots of built in designs. It’s fairly quiet which is nice. The built-in needle threader is super great as well. I’m excited to keep using this and really explore the embroidery tool as well!

As soon as it arrived I was able to set it up very quickly - the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I’ve used Brother sewing machines before and other than a few newer (for me) functions I was sewing within a few minutes. Using the machine for embroidery was brand new for me, so I had to read through the instructions to make sure I was doing it correctly. The designs loaded onto the machine are cute and great to practice with. I’m excited to continue using the machine and maybe even try to design my own images to embroider. The Star Wars plates and designs for the machine are great too! Overall I’m really happy with this machine and would recommend it to anyone looking for a beginner embroidery machine that also has sewing functions.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to try this machine and make all of my sewing dreams come true. But this is not the most beginner friendly machine. It took two days of multiple attempts and frustration just to thread the machine. The directions are hard to follow so using this machine has been difficult. Maybe with some practice I will feel differently but so far I’m not a fan.

I was skeptical to get the Star Wars version because I am not too familiar. with it but I think its really cool how its set up with pre-made designs. Idk why I never realized you could actually embroider by machine on your own too and not just by hand but after seeing some examples Im excited to use this more. It does come huge in a lot of packaging so that was kind of difficult to navigate at first but once you set it up its pretty neat. I recommend this version for Star Wars lovers but also just for those interested in getting more familiar with sewing and embroidery. The machine is really great quality and not too hard to familiarize yourself with.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who has only ever used a sewing machine from the 80’s, I am so impressed with the technology of this machine! The LCD screen makes it easy to change settings. There are step-by-step instructions right on the machine to thread it, and it even self threads the needle! I also love that it can also do machine embroidery. It comes with many designs preloaded onto the machine with the option to buy more from their site. I’ve also noticed that most designs available for purchase on other sites come in file types that can be read by this machine which opens up the possibilities! Overall, I’m just so thrilled to have this high quality machine.

The screen is easy to navigate (I included a pic of the buttons) and there are so many functions - from basic sewing to hemming (me, lol!) to more advanced designs. This would be a great machine for intermediate to advanced users!

For anyone wondering about the theming, the Star Wars decal is completely optional. It does not come installed, and they actually send you 3 different options. So if you see one of these on sale but you don’t want a machine with decals- yeah. I haven’t tried the embroidery function yet but I’m excited to figure it out!

So when I was offered to try this Star Wars embroidery version I jumped at the chance. This comes with almost everything you need to get started. It takes maybe 20-30min to set it up and get it going. The touch screen is very nice, it includes 80 embroidery designs and 103 stitches. Once you get the hang of it, this sewing machine is actually easy to use and embroider with! I am very pleased with the quality of this product and its ease of use. 10/10 highly recommend for beginners as well as advanced users.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off let me start by stating I am a beginner with little experience in sewing and no experience in embroidering. The Brother LB5500s Star Wars sewing and embroidery machine has a LCD touch screen display, 80 built in embroidery designs and 103 built in sewing stitches. Since this is a Star Wars edition machine it comes with adhesive Star Wars designed faceplates. There’s also a code where you can download 10 embroidery Star Wars designs from a website, however I actually haven’t been able to do this because the website is complicated and there isn’t much instruction on where and which designs are free with the code. I was most intrigued about the embroidering since I have never tried it before. Setting up this machine took about 30 minutes total. Besides the cloth and upper spool thread everything to start sewing and embroidering was included with this machine. There are directions directly on the machine on how to thread from the top spool. Once I played around with the settings a bit I finally decided to take an old cloth to try and embroider. I just followed the directions in the manual and I was able to embroider! I believe this machine is very user friendly and great for those who don’t have much experience with sewing or embroidery. I love this machine and now I have a new hobby!

I can change between sewing and embroidery mode very easily, lightly and quickly. The device has a touch screen and can connect to wifi, which exceeds expectations. I feel like I can embroider the whole world with just this machine. Its price is actually a bit high but everything it brings is completely worth it. I really like this machine #Influenster#Brother
