A great stroller but not the one for our family

I currently own two other strollers in addition to the Donkey 5 Mono, which I received through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I also have the Butterfly, which I love, and a front-to-back double stroller. The Donkey 5 has a sleek, luxurious design. The adjustable handlebar fits me very well at 5'8" and would fit a person over 6' very easily. The way in which it extends outward prevents accidentally kicking the stroller. I find the durable seat material easy to clean, though it’s not particularly soft. The canopy provides extensive sun coverage with a zippered extension and a peek-a-boo mesh window. However, the toddler seat lacks an adjustable footrest, has a low seat back, and isn’t ideal for taller kids. My 36” son’s head already touches the canopy. I do appreciate the fully flat recline capability of the toddler seat. Large wheels make for a smooth ride on various surfaces (hardwood, cement, asphalt), and the stroller easily fits through standard doorways. The brake system is easy to use, though its placement could be improved to avoid getting your shoes dirty.

So I’ll start off with that this is my second bugaboo that I’ve have. I got the travel bugaboo ant second hand to keep in my car for when I have to run errands. Had no idea how great quality bugaboo was until I got that. When I got this stroller to test it as part of the stellar reviews I already knew that I was going to love it, just didn’t know how much. Ok so I’ll start with the negatives. Though not many, assembling the entire stroller was not exactly the easiest. I had to watch the 9 minute video multiple times before I understood bc it moves fast through the steps. Unsure how secure the bottom storage space is with just Velcro but I guess only time will tell. I guess a pro would be you can take it off to wash it. The break on the wheels I wish was a push step instead of a flip up and flip down. I also wish there was a compartment up by where you push the stroller to store things for the person pushing. Ok so here are the positives. Regardless of my above mention of wanting storage at the top where the person is pushing, this stroller has so much storage. The added side storage is amazing. It’s so nice to have it there without having to bend down and get things out from underneath the stroller. The sturdiness of this stroller is so nice plus the wheels really do absorb some of the bumps when you’re going on a walk. Some people may think the width of the stroller as a single stroller w the storage bag next to it is so wide but I think it gives it even more sturdiness and I really like the size of it. The ride is so smooth and the stroller is so easy to push. It doesn’t feel too heavy to push but also feels like a very solid stroller at the same time where you know it’s well made. I’m really excited to use this as a double stroller when the time comes. I love the option of it converting. I love that it’s so easy to switch out the seats to be parent facing or outward facing. It’s so easy to change directions depending on what we’re doing. My daughter likes to look out so she sits outward more often than not. As soon as I put her in the stroller she was calm and so happy. She fit so comfortably.

Perfect for a growing family

This stroller is really innovative, and perfect for families that plan to grow, even if you only have one kiddo currently. I'm a mom of 6 and have been through more strollers than I can count as I'm a bit of a "baby product junkie". I see new baby technology and I want to try it! My oldest was born in 2011 and the changes in strollers over the past 13 years has been awesome to watch and experience, with this Bugaboo being one of the cooler ones I've tried. Previously I have defaulted to the tandem style of double stroller, thinking they would be more convenient and easier to push around since they're more narrow. The biggest issue here? They are HARD to steer and have zero turn radius. Think of trying to drive a bus versus a mini van. With the Bugaboo Donkey5, you can have the kiddos side by side in the double mode OR you can slim it down to single mode with a small basket next to it. Let me tell you, it is super easy to expand or slim down the stroller as it just requires you to flip a couple switches, pull/push, and then close them back up. While the stroller only comes with the capability to handle one child right out of the box, I was able to expand the stroller out and push it around to see how wide it would get with two seats side by side. I was pleasantly surprised that it still fit through doorways, my hallway, and other areas I perceived as narrow. It also was much easier to steer and handle that a tandem double stroller. When I took it out, however, I only used it in single-mode as I have not yet purchased the second seat or wheeled-board. I used this with both my 7-month old and my 2-year old. The seat was super easy to adjust the harness to fit between them and my 2-year old made it very clear that this seat was comfortable. He pulled it into my living room, climbed into the seat, and sat in the stroller rather than on the couch while watching his show. He made excellent use of the side basket as well. I bet you thought this was for placing shopping bags, diaper bags, etc? Nope, turns out it is an excellent place for your toddler to stash all his toy trains and snacks while relaxing in the seat. I appreciated how easy it was to flip between parent facing and outward facing as well. My 2-year old prefers to outward face, but I use the parent-facing with my 7-month old since I love watching him take in the surroundings as we go on our walks. It was also incredibly easy to adjust the recline of the seat, it took no time or effort at all. There were only a few things I didn't like about this stroller. First, the assembly was quite an undertaking. At first I appreciated the QR code right upon opening the box with the video, but I didn't realize that was the ONLY assembly information. There was no instruction booklet, quickstart guide, or anything else. I had to pause and rewind and rewatch that video so many times. It took me about 40 minutes to set up this stroller- when typically I can get them put together in 15 minutes or less. (I've set up quite a few). Second, you cannot use both the bassinet and the seat right out of the box. You have to pick one. It comes with the items needed to set them up, but they both use some mutual pieces and you have to pick which one will get them. This means that in order to use the second seat I have to purchase a whole new seat. This feels a little wasteful as I'll still need to store the pieces of the seat I received, even if I am using the bassinet at the time, or vice versa. However, it's not the end of the world, and I love that it comes with the items to use the bassinet and then grow to the seat for one kiddo, but I wish it just came with everything for the bassinet and everything for the seat and allowed you to use them interchangeably, or even together (that'd be ideal). Third, this is probably my biggest gripe, and it feels very silly but it drove me absolutely crazy-- this stroller does not lock shut when folded. It's already a pretty big stroller when folded, but that made sense to me since it has a lot behind it, but putting it up for storage (whether against the wall, in my closet, or in my car) was a bit of a nightmare as it would just open back up since nothing keeps it shut. It would just start to reopen, not fully, but spread back apart while it rested against the wall or when I would lift it to put it in my trunk. I see where it makes reopening it more convenient when you're pulling it out to go on your way, but I would much rather have a quick latch, or something I need to pull than just have it slide right back open all the time. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for giving me the opportunity to try this stroller in exchange for my review. It's definitely going to get it's use in my home!

I love our new stroller! 10/10 for safety in my opinion. My child is secure and the wrist strap comforts me that I wont lose control of the stroller. Easy to push and easy to convert from infant to child or forward facing to backwards facing. It even has a bag, which I just cant get enough of- all strollers should have this! This stroller is not for you if you are looking for something compact to easily put into your trunk. It is large and doesnt fold up to be tiny for the trunk. But for someone who needs a stroller to get around the neighborhood and nearby shops, you can't go wrong. It has so many options for growing too- additional seats and other fun ways for older kids to be included. I will have this stroller for many many years. Also my daughter is loving the bag that sits right next to her seat. I've used several strollers that have no room for storage or even a simple diaper bag. But that is not the case here. I can't wait to use this in the summer because it will fit everything I need to get to the pool. Thank you Stellar Panel for this stroller!

I was given this stroller to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I absolutely loved it! It is the perfect urban stroller. The fact that it can easily convert into a double stroller is huge. I found the side luggage basket fantastic for being out and about in the city and needing to grab groceries or run any other errands. It meant I wasn’t trying to squish things in next to a bulky diaper bag. I found the stroller easy to maneuver, and it had the same glide no matter how much weight was in there. I didn’t use the bassinet as my babies are too big, but they love both rear and front facing depending on the mood and how much they feel like interacting with me vs. the outside world. They also loved the recline when it came to napping The stroller itself looks sleek and high end and seems as though it would be easy to clean

I’m a mom of one child, 8 months old, but hoping to grow to a family of two children in the near future. I received this stroller to review from stellar product testing panel. Pros: -I’m 5’11 with a long stride. Not all strollers work for me to walk comfortable without kicking the under carriage. This stroller has many adjustments to make the height perfect. -This stroller handles well on many surfaces: gravel, grass, sand, and cobble stone. I live an “urban lifestyle” where a stroller needs to be able to perform for more than neighborhood walks. The Donkey 5 delivered and there were no issues pushing the little one around. - I love the versatility to have baby facing mom, baby facing out, stroller seat, bassinet, or even two baby’s. I like that when is duo mode for two baby’s that they will be able to interact. -My favorite feature was the little side basket. This isn’t seen on many strollers and was actually super convenient. The basket pops out which makes unloading a breeze. I can grab baby and my side basket of things and easily walk into the house without having to empty out a whole under carriage before attempting to fold the stroller. -Having a detachable bassinet is a priceless feature. We used ours more than we could even imagine. However, it is unclear if the bugaboo bassinet is approved for overnight sleep when detached from the stroller. - The Donkey 5 easily fits through a door in mono mode, was not tested as a duo Cons: -Heavy! I need to carry the stroller to the basement after each use. This (on the larger side) stroller was a pain to pick up daily. -Does not collapse easily. Several steps involved that can’t be done one handed while holding baby. -There is not currently a car seat adaptor available for the infant car seat I already own. For the price, I would expect a cup holder included. I was also disappointed that the frame needed for the bassinet is the same frame needed to make the toddler seat. So you can’t have them readily available to switch back and forth. Additional purchase is required to switch the donkey mono to donkey duo

Luxury Stroller Worth Every Penny

If you are looking for a luxury, easy to maneuver stroller, this is it! This is the 5th stroller I have owned, and as a piece of equipment that gets used on the daily, I wish I would have splurged on a high quality one like this right off the bat. COMFORT I was surprised to see how comfortably my 2 year old fit into the toddler seat (which holds up to 50 lbs). It includes a no-rethread harness (easily adjusts for a growing child or children of different ages), and the shoulder/waist straps clip into the harness independently of each other, which makes buckling my squirmy toddler very easy. I LOVE how easy it is to adjust the recline on the toddler seat. You just pinch the clip on the back of the seat and can smoothly adjust the incline, even to a lying flat position for naps. The bassinet is soft and spacious, making any outing comfortable for a baby. MANEUVERABILITY This stroller rides like butter. Uneven sidewalks, dirt paths, and bumpy terrain are no problem for the 10 and 12-inch puncture-proof wheels. It's so easy to push and steer (even one handed). FUNCTIONALITY The canopy is great for rain or sun, and it's convenient to have a little window to peek in and see if my baby is sleeping. There is also a huge rain cover with holes on the side for airflow, making your baby comfortable in any weather. I love how easy it is to fold. You adjust the handlebar to the lowest setting, and on either side of the stroller there are white clips that you pull upward, which releases the handlebar and allows you to fold the stroller in half and pop it into your trunk. STORAGE I have never seen a stroller with so much storage space! If you are using as a single stroller, you can attach the side basket which holds 22 lbs! This can easily replace having to carry a diaper bag around and can fit diapers, wipes, drinks, snacks, burp clothes, backup outfits, etc. In addition, there is a huge under-seat basket that holds 22 lbs! This incredible amount of storage space makes trips to the zoo, park, and store so much easier without having to lug around heavy backpacks. CONS The only thing about this stroller that I don't love, which is more of a personal preference, is having the kids side by side (if you buy the duo extension kit to convert to a double) instead of front to back. It makes navigating through stores or crowds a bit more cumbersome. OVERALL This is a high end stroller and the price is reflected in the details. Everything about this stroller (snapping in seats or the bassinet, expanding the width, strapping in your child, reclining, locking, collapsing it) is straightforward and effortless. It rides beautifully and you and your child will be comfortable. It is worth every penny. Thank you to the Stellar Review Panel for providing me with this stroller to test and review!

Customizable based on your kiddos stage of life!

Right off the bat, you can tell this is a premium quality stroller in the way it handles. It is very easy to maneuver, one-handed, and pushes very evenly despite my very heavy 17 month old being in the sole seat as I have it configured. I wish I had this early on right after my baby was born- the ability to have a bassinet and a toddler seat side by side would have been so convenient! I love how you can customize based on what stage of life you’re at. A couple small things that I’ve noticed as slight “cons”, but for others might be a moot point. The four point harness. Having to click in four straps takes just an extra second. In other strollers I’ve used, the shoulder and belt harness straps are attached, so it’s just two pieces to click in. However, on the flipside, this makes getting kiddo out of the seat a lot easier because you press the button once and you can get them out without having to make sure their arm isn’t stuck! Attaching the lower basket and the seat. It was relatively easy until I needed to do the Velcro straps. I felt like I couldn’t get a good fit to make everything sit nice and flush. So even now after it’s been used and broken in, it still looks like it’s not totally positioned correctly on the frame. The adjustment plastic buckle for the handlebar is placed exactly where I would put my hand using it one-handed. A good sign that I’m able to use just one hand to maneuver, but slightly uncomfortable and inconvenient. I knew going in that this was a big stroller and I do have plenty of room, but it is very big. Very. Even collapsed. It still takes up a good amount of space in the back of my VW Atlas. The seat size and spaciousness is slightly small for my very big kids. My 33 inch 31 pound 17 month old was pretty snug, especially with the depth of the seat. The storage is unmatched. The basket on the side can fit so much stuff. The zipper closure even allows you to stuff it super full and overflow, and it keeps it nice and secure. The tires hold up nicely in light snow, mud and water. I love the overall aesthetic of this stroller. I would recommend this stroller for a family who might be doing a lot of “city living”- maybe needing a lot of storage for taking groceries from the store to home, or using it as your carriage inside stores- so you don’t have to take baby out and put into a cart. It definitely is comparable size-wise to a double stroller, so if you’re used to that/looking for that, the size and handling is spot on. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

When I first opened the box for the Bugaboo Donkey 5 Mono Complete Stroller I was surprised at what was all included. Once I put the stroller together (which was very easy, all the pieces at first glance can be overwhelming) the look was perfect. With a sleek design and the black on black look it was exactly what we needed. The design is great, you are able to maximize the strollers use while still keeping it light weight. By keeping the color all black and having the color contrast for the triggers is another bonus because they are easy to spot and I didn’t have to fumble around looking for them when I wanted to recline or fold the stroller down to put it away. With having a two seater option this made the Bugaboo Donkey 5 Mono Complete Stroller a top pick. Having two young children and being able to seat them side by side no matter the age from new born to toddler is ideal. They are able to sit facing the same direction or opposite directions which is an option I didn’t know I needed until now! Pushing the stroller felt effortless no matter the weight load, I was ecstatic at how smooth the stroller glided across different terrains with both children. From transporting anything from both children to one child and groceries this stroller felt stable and smooth keeping the balance evenly distributed. Even though this stroller provides parent-facing, forward-facing and reclining options for child seating my children preferred the forward-facing and reclining options. They enjoyed riding around taking in their surroundings and when they felt a little tired they reclined back for a nap. While riding in the stroller my children preferred the forward-facing and the reclined positions of the seat. They enjoy looking out and observing all that is around them. It’s also a bonus to recline the chair and have my children relax or take a nap while either taking a walk or out running errands. As my children grow this will be a highly useful addition from going to the beach or going to the zoo with either both or a single child in the stroller. We can carry items in the large underneath storage for sporting events or carrying groceries in the side basket when we walk home from the grocery store. My favorite feature of the Bugaboo Donkey 5 Mono Complete Stroller is how it can expand to a two seater stroller and still be sturdy. The quality and handling of the stroller did not diminish due to making it larger to accommodate both siblings. The stroller folds down small enough leaving room in my trunk for any extra items needed. This feature as well makes this stroller a go to whenever leaving the house with the family.

I received this stroller through Stellar Reviews. It has lots of storage as a single child stroller with the basket to the side and large basket on the bottom. Amazing for going from one to two kids, the frame just widens to fit the second seat or bassinet. The quality, look, and design are top notch. It is such a beautiful stroller!! I love all the configurations available for when our family grows and for our different needs. You need an SUV or minivan though, I had to have my third row down to fit the stroller in the trunk. My son prefers outward facing, but when I have my next baby I will love the option to do both seating configurations. The maneuverability is wonderful!! I don’t think I’ll have any issue with the weight of two kids. The side luggage basket was super handy for our grocery store and mall outings. I would recommend to someone who plans on having kids close in age, or to someone with two young kids already. It probably won’t be the only stroller you have, I think a travel stroller is still needed as a lightweight/compact option, but it is a solid choice to own.

Our experience with the Bugaboo Donkey 5 has been seamless. It was easy to put together right out of the box, and I appreciated the QR code link to the installation video. It was really helpful to have a visual! Our youngest kiddo just turned 2 and we have another baby due in a couple months. Using the Bugaboo Donkey in mono mode has been super great for our 2 year old. I love that I can have her facing out, towards me, or completely reclined. I appreciate the mesh option on the canopy when I want to make sure she stays cool and I love how extended it is for when she needs to nap on the go. The side luggage basket is so handy! It’s great to be able to store our stuff within arms reach, and I love that it has a hidden zipper option if I don’t want to risk someone grabbing something from that area! It has been a breeze to push on any type of terrain, from grass, hills, and uneven sidewalks. Compared to our other double stroller, it practically pushes itself. My only note about the stroller is that it’s quite large. I wish there was a way to make it even narrower (by not using the side luggage basket) when we want something smaller. Additionally, the toddler seat is a bit narrow. My daughter is a very petite 2 year old and fits in it perfectly. My 4 year old is on the larger side and is just too big for it, even though she’s under the weight limit. I am so excited to use the bassinet when we have another newborn in the spring! Overall, I love all the options of the Bugaboo Donkey 5, from I mono mode, to double mode with a car seat, toddler seat, bassinet, or any combination! And I’m thankful to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for gifting us this stroller to review!

We are extremely pleased with our Bugaboo Donkey 5 Mono. I love it. The colour is gorgeous, it is so smooth to use even with one hand. I really love the memory buttons for taking both seats in & off as now you can do it all in one hand! Makes things so much easier. This pram is exactly what we were looking for, sturdy but suitable for all terrain too. I also love the bigger front wheels compared to most other prams out there. Makes going up and down Kerbs better and smoother. Truly so happy and love this pram & would highly recommend to anyone.

We received this stroller for our new baby boy and wow! It really has delivered on our long walks. We love the smooth ride and accessibility -- especially the ability to fit through doorways and be on our way!
