Used to be my go to cheese, constantly had it in my fridge. Last year or more it’s a completely different cheese. The reply of how certain things can change the cheese isn’t adding up!! It’s a way different texture and flavor but it’s also been going on for awhile so it’s not just one batch it’s now every batch. I want the actually sharp crumbly cheese back!!!
Not the same cheese

I have bought Cabot Seriously Sharp for years and loved it. The past three times it is not the same. It’s no longer a dry crumbly cheese with a sharp tang to it. Why the change? I can buy a store brand for this quality.

The recipe for our Cheddar cheese has not changed but cheese is naturally variable. Several factors can affect the flavor or texture of each batch, such as temperature, milk properties, cheese making techniques, aging, etc. Our cheese graders and our quality team work hard to minimize variances, but it can be difficult, and some low flavor bars can slip by. We apologize for any inconvenience the low flavor cheese has caused. We will continue to monitor our product quality to better prevent anomalies in the future.

Agree with these reviews, wish the company were more forthcoming. What happened?? Used to be actually sharp, flavorful, dry rather than mushy. Now it's bland, mushy, worse than our generic supermarket brand. It's depressing

Thank you for letting us know! Your comments have been forwarded to our Customer Satisfaction and QA teams. This certainly sounds like an aberration from our normal cheddar cheese and we appreciate your feedback so we can resolve any QA issues.
Milder in flavor

I opened a new pkg today (Seriously Sharp Cheddar Cabot) and was disappointed that it did not taste as sharp as the Cabot cheddar I frequently buy. Not sure if I usually buy the Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese or the Seriously Sharp Cheddar Cheese, though.

Thank you for your feedback. Several factors can affect the flavor of Cabot cheeses, such as temperature, milk properties, cheese making techniques, aging, etc. Our cheese graders and our quality team work hard to minimize variances, but some low flavor bars (which become slices) can slip by. We're sorry to hear that you encountered a low flavor batch. We will continue to monitor our product quality to better prevent anomalies in the future. Also - try Cabot's 3, 5 or 10-year cheddars for that "aged to perfection" sharpness.

Seriously Sharp Cheese is no longer and dry or sharp as it used to be. What happened? Why the change? This was our go to Cheddar and now it’s a real disappointment.

We're sorry to hear that this Cabot product did not live up to our normal quality standards. We have shared your feedback and contact information with our Customer Service team directly. We hope you will try again as this sounds like an anomaly.

This cheese is okay, but it is not as sharp as I would've expected from the "Seriously Sharp" name and the description on the package. It tastes like a mild cheddar to me.
Great cheese block or sliced!

Cabot is hands down one of my favorite cheeses. Smooth texture and goes great along or on crackers. Healthy snacking at its best and although recently went up slightly still worth and always have multi packs on standby.

Bar none the best cheddar you can buy at your supermarket. Intense full-flavored cheddar that is absolutely wonderful with saltine crackers! The best Vermont has to offer! Nice job Cabot!
