Description
Say goodbye to dreadful wash days with Cantu’s Basic Detangler Brush! Designed with a non-slip grip handle, longer bristles, and rubber base, the Basic Detangler Brush reaches deep within hair strands to detangle without breakage. The non-slip grip keeps the brush in your hand when using a conditioner with lots of slip, and its sturdy build withstands even the toughest of detangling jobs. Gone are the days of replacing broken brushes after wash day. Cantu’s Basic Detangler Brush has a unique build, making it tough on knots and gentle enough to detangle all hair types. The rubber base provides ultimate curl definition while allowing hair to maintain moisture. To use, divide wet or damp hair into sections. Start from the bottom of the section and slowly work your way to the root. Repeat in each section. To prevent breakage or knots, never begin detangling at the root. For best results, use with Cantu’s Coil Calm Detangler.

Q: how do you take out the bristles?
submitted by E - 2 years ago
A: Hello - The bristles are not removable. If you want to clean your Cantu Detangler Brush, we suggest filling a small bowl with warm soapy water. Dip a clean (but old!) toothbrush into the water. Gently brush between the teeth until any product build-up is removed from the teeth and the base of the hairbrush.

Summary of reviews
The brush is praised for its ability to detangle curly hair, especially for those with 3a to 3c hair types. It effectively defines curls and works well with detangling sprays. However, many guests report issues with the brush's durability, as it often breaks or comes apart during use. The bristles are described as hard and uncomfortable, which can lead to hair breakage and discomfort during brushing. While some find it effective for specific hair types, others find it too harsh and not suitable for finer or thicker hair.

Mom guilt - 1 month ago
I bought this yesterday and ever since i was a child. I broke often combs to hair brushes. I noticed reviews on this one got mix feelings but in my case so far. Despite hard bristles of the brush, it seems my scalp enjoys it. I do lay the sides thats no bristles flat then start move the hard bristles downward as i brush from the middle towards my ends. I never liked too soft brushes on my hair and i often have dandruff if i don't brush/hydrate my scalp/hair correctly. So far nothing been broken or fallen apart. Hair feels softer and no matter how much i use the brush. It smooths my ends of my hair. It might not work for everybody my review is just one of them "personal experience" type reviews. I love collecting different brushes to combs this one will stay 😎 Would I recommend this? No. Why? Cause its a mix option and if you hate too hard stiff bristles then this isn't for you.

If you have thick curly hair 3b-3c this is the best brush for you. It effortlessly combs through my tangles and helps shingle and define my curls during styling.

Horrible product - 1 year ago, Verified purchaser
Bristle base is not attached to brush and causes hair to caught, pulls and breaks hair. Causes major static.

The brush separates, is very painful to use, and does not brush through hair well. I’ve gotten other products from this brand I like but this is a miss and waste of money
Not a good brush. Definitely uncomfortable.

Bristles are super hard and so uncomfortable to brush. I was detangling my hair and it fell apart mid brush. This is supposed to detangle hair?

I bought this in-store on a whim. Both of my kids have long curly hair, (3a/3b) so tangles are a constant problem around here. And at first it seemed like a good choice, because the brush DID detangle, without causing too much pain. But it broke after 3 days. My kid hit a knot, and the bristles came unglued from the plastic handle. Same exact thing as you see as in a previous reviewer's photo. I can slide the bristles back into the handle, but without the glue they don't stay. The manufacturer needs to go back to the drawing board on quality control with this product, even if it means raising the price. Curly hair puts up a fight - your tools need to be durable.
