Q: Is this safe for skin? I'm trying to make tallow balm for skincare, and was wondering if this is safe for skin
A: Yes, extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) can be good for your skin. It's a popular natural ingredient in skincare products because it contains antioxidants, vitamins, and fatty acids.

This product has no additives and is extracted directly from the olive only by mechanical processes. We market it as a food product though and therefore we do not run laboratory tests using it as a cosmetic. However we know that traditionally many people use it for different purposes (moisturizing, etc.). We hope this helps! The Carapelli Team

Q: Is this safe to drink daily for health reasons ?
A: Hello! Thank you for your question! Our product is designed to be consumed as a food ingredient, ideal for use in cold dishes or for cooking hot preparations. Research suggests that incorporating about 1.5 tablespoons of olive oil into your daily diet may help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, due to its heart-healthy fats. However, it’s important to note that olive oil should replace less healthy fats, such as those found in butter or oils high in saturated fats. Adding olive oil on top of these other fats would increase your daily calorie intake, which is not advisable for maintaining a balanced diet. As with any food, moderation and balance are key to achieving the health benefits. Thank you! The Bertolli Team

Q: What is the origin? Single source?
A: Hi Rebecca, Carapelli Organic is not single source. You can find the product origin on the bottom right corner of the back label, just below the UPC. Having a multi-origin product allows for the maintenance of quality standards and the flavor profile over time and to not be dependent on the yield and flavor, varieties of a certain country, which can vary in quality and flavor from year to year. Just like any other fruit, olives are grown in nature and impacted by weather and pests, and relying on one single crop would lead to inconsistency in quality and flavor outcomes. Multi-origin blends are an excellent choice to take the best of each country in order that represent quality and consistency, and of course balance flavor. At Carapelli/Deoleo, blending is an important process that yields a reliable flavor profile and quality that consumers have come to expect. Thanks for trying our Carapelli Organic olive oil. - The Carapelli Team

Q: is this oil made of 100% olive oil or mixed with other oils?
A: It will be 100% extra virgin olive oil, but most likely not from a single country, and 100% sure will not be from a single estate. The country codes on the back of the bottle will tell where.
