Even being a composition, the desk feels sturdy. It took us 5 hours to put together. Not all pieces were marked, and we just had to guess.

Despite some negative reviews that I read, this is a great product. I found that by following the assembly instructions closely, the desk went together well and all the pieces and drilled holes lined up well. This desk is now the 18th piece of Sauder furniture in my home. Other Sauder products that I have include cabinets, tables, desks, chests of drawer, night stands, and a headboard.

This is a functional piece of furniture and fairly nice looking. Sauder gives much better directions than does IKEA and other brands in this category. It is very important that you do things in the exact order given, it is not easy to fix mistakes. I did make a few mistakes, but I am happy with the overall look of completed product.

This desk will be used everyday in our home office. It assembled easily with the instructions provided. Once completed it looks beautiful in the room, is very sturdy and the drawers all open and close easily. Very happy with this purchase.

I use this desk in my home office. I specifically chose Sauder because my previous experience with their products was that the pieces are precisely drilled and fit together perfectly. The desk is the optimal size with plenty of surface space on which to work. The drawers are solid and surprisingly large and roll out easily. A couple of corners were crushed slightly in transit, but since they were not in front, I did not try to return the item. The cam covers do not tap easily in place and three broke in the attempt. This was not my experience previously, so I was a little disappointed that the silver is showing.

It looks very nice. The assembly takes time, but the instructions are clear. The product is very heavy, due to the particle board, not solid wood. The frame went together well. The drawers could be easier. After they were constructed, it took significant amount of time to get the drawer faces aligned so that they are even and do not interfere with each other or the frame. The drawer construction needs to be simplified, or tolerances on the holes should be tightened up. Also, the hanging folder glides are VERY difficut to press onto the top of the drawer side walls. Needs to be changed to a screw on guide, or change the extrusion so that it not as tight. Good value for the price.

If I knew how much work and how many pieces and how much hardware was required I would NOT have purchased this item! Every drawer took 10-11 pieces! Part of the partial board was chipped. We had unpacked the DAMAGED box before we realized how complex this project was …. HOURS to assemble!
