First off, the ring arrived in an oval shape so I had to do some work with tools I use for fimo clay to get this to work, and the hole-poking straw was cracked in half. Second, the size is huge for a tree - especially a small tree like mine - but even at this size it is too small to fit things like nails for a 60 pound dog - I wouldn't recommend it for any dog over 50lbs MAX unless they have super dainty feet. I had to poke the hole so it would hang at an angle otherwise it would have screwed up the toes. Also it picks up so much dust and debris and unlike clay you fire or even cook in the oven like sculpey and fimo it doesn't re-work well nor can you smooth it out properly due to how greasy it is (my mini bear is held together with bits of toothpicks because it doesn't stick to itself). It starts forming little fissures and cracks almost immediately and you can't use water to smooth them out nor can you use the heat from your hands or a special solvent for polymer clay to smooth out the awkward bits. The instructions are also vague as there are no ingredients listed to know what it may or may not stick to, how to clean it off of things like your dog's paws, and whether it needs full circulation to air-dry (I am hoping it doesn't stick to coated paper plates for example as I didn't want a silicone mat preventing it from drying nor did I want indentations from my raised resin mat or weird oxidation from any kind of metal). I also don't know if it can be painted afterwards and if so with what type of paint in order to add his name. For all I know, when it dries in 3 days it could crumble to bits as well due to the cracks forming after the process. I also don't know if I can gently buff them out either. For the price it isn't awful and if it needs to be tossed I can do so but it should have also come with a few clay tools like a roller/dowel that could have been used in place of the straw which is too short for that and an angled cutter to remove the excess, as well as a basic round cookie cutter as opposed to a wobbly plastic circle that doesn't retain its shape.
Spend some time to smooth it out

Good keepsake for our cat that passed. Difficult to get the clay smooth so it’s hard to see the paw print unless it’s pointed out.
Decent for the price

Easy to use, not messy, didn’t get stuck in fur after. It’s definitely a first try and that’s it thing. I did the print directly in the middle the first try but with the nails on top didn’t leave much room for the hole, so tried to redo and the clay was so hard to get to smooth out and ended up very crackly and bumpy looking. But ended up being cute anyways and an easy keepsake for my old girl just in case. But it does take about 7 days to dry fully before you tie the string to it.

Clay was easy to work with. But it takes longer than 3 days to dry. Clay was brittle after drying around the whole that created to hang it up. Not sure it will last long being able to be hung up before the Clay breaks around the hanging whole.
Dry and cracky
