Q&A(3)
Q: Is this a reflecting telescope? I can't seem to find that information regarding this model.
A: Yes, this telescope is a refractor. In fact just to give you a little bit more info, refracting telescopes are pretty close to being the strongest type out there. Cassegrain telescopes, are by far the best out there because of the magnification and quality needed to produce a clear image. You'll spend anywhere from $100-10,000,000 on these. But refractors are a great option for beginners or anything else.

Q: Can you suggest a telescope for a 7yr old boy who is a bit smart. Just starting to look at stars.
A: The Celestron Travel Scope is a lightweight telescope that can be used for both terrestrial and celestial observing. It makes for a good starter telescope for a child. As he gets older and becomes more serious about astronomy, there are many other telescope models that will fit his observing needs. You can view these telescopes at www.celestron.com
