A: Hi dg - This Velvet Quilt will add class to any room! The material is 100% Cotton. We'd recommend following the care and cleaning of Machine Wash & Tumble Dry, to avoid shrinkage. Hope this works out for you! - Patricia

A: Yes, it shrinks. First time I washed and dried it, it shrunk. It was dried on low heat. Still beautiful and I make it work but I am definitely a bit disappointed that it shrunk so much - several inches on the side.
