Q: Does this rug hold up well in households with cats? I wanted to check if anyone has noticed pulls in the fabric from pets possibly scratching at the rug, or if it's sturdy enough for this not to be an issue?

submitted bypturner - 4 years agoA: I read the comments before I bought this rug so I went in knowing this rug sheds. Friends, it is NON STOP SHEDDING. My rug is two years old and to give you an idea of the ridiculousness, if you drop say a pair of black leggings on this carpet, it looks like you got in a two hour fight with a long haired cat from the Himalayas. It acutally fills my dyson. I've had it and I'm throwing it out.

I am so disappointed in this runner. It is thick, gloriously soft, and it looks stylish, but….. there are hidden stick pieces in this thing that jab you through the foot. And topping that off, this carpet sheds more than any cat or dog I’ve ever known. In just one day, I had sheep wool tumbleweeds rolling across my floor. It’s awful!

Rich, lux, organic look. Yes, the dark heather color was much darker than the photos, but I love it that way. Sheds, but that is to be expected from a natural, woven rug. Hides pet hair well. Photo is after 2 years of use in our bedroom.

Great value for the price. I love the density of the wool. Have had a 2x3 in our entry for over a year, holding up well with simple vacuuming every week or so. Picked up a second longer one for our sauna changing room. Color of the gray rug is off in the pictures - it is a warmer color with more tan and brown tones along with gray.

I use this as a runner in my foyer, it doesn't shed. I'm not sure what others are saying about shedding because I've had it for years and it barely does. I'm unsure how to clean it, it's very saturated with clay dirt. It vacuums ok and doesn't smell.

Love the online picture. But looks absolutely nothing like the picture. It’s completely off white with some thin brown lines going thru it. Not the mix of cream & brown with some black woven through it. They need to up date the online photo if you’re going to change the color that drastically!!!

Ordered two runners, one for each side of my bed. One is two inches short of 7', the other is two inches long if 7'. I can't use them because of the length difference. Additionally, the stitching of one of the runners is loose. I don't think quality control is something the manufacturer cares about.

Love this rug for my floor under my kitchen sink! Color does not show spills. And I loved so much after a couple of years I bought the same one back to replace. Not scratchy and doesn’t have rubber backing to ruin floors but stays in place. Vacuum and shakes out to clean.

Beautiful rug, feels nice & very sturdy HOWEVER, the shedding is intolerable. I kept the 5X7 & the runner for almost a year & the shedding never got any better no matter how much I vacuumed them. You will find fibers of this rug everywhere, worse than pet hair in my opinion. I finally decided to return them. You’d be best to spend your money on a different set.

We needed a true wool rug to protect our new lvt flooring but most “fireplace” rugs are less than 48 in. Our fireplace is huge and hot, we did a test spot with a burning log and the embers just fizzled out. Yes, leaves a mark but it blends in because of the color and texture.

I love the feel of this rug, it is very soft. However, it sheds quite a bit. We don’t have pets but I’ve joked that we might as well because we find the rug fibers all over the house. The fibers also ball up and I find them around like dust bunnies. Vacuuming hasn’t seemed to make a difference. I would not purchase this again because of this. It makes the house feel more dirty.
