Cinderella (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital)

This is probably one of the more “true” remakes from their entire remake collection- the sets are fantastic, the costuming is amazing and the actors are excellent for the roles! Their choice to make the king an actual person and the duke a more adversarial figure was inspired and makes me wish they did similar things with their other films in this collection. My only- ONLY- point of major contention is the oddball humor. It feels incredibly out of place and awkward, and it makes the whole fairy godmother segment very hard to watch. Like as an example- she is fleeing from the prince due to the clock about to strike 12:00 midnight- and we cut away to a footman eating a fly. 🤨 A lot of the humor would fit far better in a cartoon then a live action film. Especially since they went as far to remove the speaking roles of the animals in this for realism. My minor nitpick is the music being very oddly placed. It doesn’t ruin the movie, but a stronger orchestral piece plays when she walks down the stairs then when she’s dancing with the prince? They also ONLY include songs from the original in the closing credits- all the other music for Ella is the mothers lullaby through the whole movie. She’s even singing it when the prince finds her in the end. I think it would have been great for him to find her by hearing “A dream is a wish your heart makes…” And I’ll point out the version of this song that plays in the credits sounds great! I rate this a strong 7.5 / 10. It blows the other Disney remakes out of the park. I confess I skip through the fairy godmother section entirely- but the rest of the movie is surprisingly watchable. Especially for a live action remake of a classic Disney film. Though it makes me a bit sad that they didn’t even use the legendary castle from their intro as the princes castle- they even show a real version when the movie opens but the castle looks like Buckingham palace instead… sigh- A missed opportunity.

One of the best remakes so far. Leaves you feeling magical and just a feel "good" movie from beginning to end. My daughters love it and I appreciate the wholesomeness of this Disney movie.

I love all things Disney but I did have to return this because it didn't come with the sleeve as pictured. Not a big deal to most but I was disappointed.

This is a great family movie! I can watch this with my whole family and know that we will on see or hear anything inappropriate or embarrassing. This movie funny, romantic, entertaining and beautiful! Another Disney home-run.

Love the movie, but very unhappy about how Cinderella is dressed. Her dresses are too low in the chest. Thats and very disappointing!

I went in June of this year to see Cinderella at the movies. I so enjoyed viewing the movie that I decided to order it. It just came this week from Target and I have watched it two more times. I love it, and my grand-daughter enjoyed it as well.
