Description
Take dynamic lighting on the go. Compact, easy-carrying, and rechargeable, the HX5R flashlight packs advanced features into a pocket-friendly 5-inch frame. The COAST-patented PURE BEAM optic with SLIDE FOCUS transitions seamlessly between Ultra View Flood Beam and BULLS-EYE Spot Beam. Simply push or pull the bezel to change the shape and length of the beam. Three light modes—medium, high, low—Turbo and deliver 8 hours of run time on low and peak at 620 lumens and 630 feet on High. A two-way stainless steel pocket clip works as a hands-free mount on the bill of a hat or securely stows the light when not in use. COAST’s Rechargeable Plus system powers the HX5R on a COAST ZITHIONZ555 lithium battery—which recharges via the USB-A charging port while the battery remains inside the flashlight. Monitor recharge status with the battery charging indicator. The flashlight can also run on a CR123 battery (purchased separately). Machined from solid aluminum with a high-textured grip, the HX5R is built to IP54 specifications for water resistance and dust resistance and is backed by the COAST lifetime warranty.

The brightness of the light is powerful. It’s actually more than what I expected it to be. I’m a volunteer firefighter and it’s great because of the size and the clip that allows you to clip it to the uniform. It’s strong and durable. I’ve dropped and banged it into things and it’s still like new. It’s also waterproof, I’ve gotten it wet several times and there’s no water damage

I bought to use at work and the fist one stopped working about 3 months after buying it. I did use the life time warranty and received a replacement. So far it is working well and we will see for how long.

Just pulled it out the box brand new, turned it on and now it won’t turn off. Even after it goes through the modes it still stays on!! HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. Don’t buy unless you want a flashlight that won’t turn off

I've been using this for a few weeks. Plenty of light using in normal mode and super bright light using the burst mode that also projects it far ahead and up into trees. The charge port cover stays attached and the switch lights up when in use for a short time. I use it while Walking my dog nightly.

I got 2 of these since the ones I had originally are no longer produced. I thought it would take me a while to start liking them but so far, I think they are great. The clip holds on tightly and I can keep it in my pocket with the clip facing out so I will never drop it. Just have to get used to the switch not being on the end opposite the lens.

Worked nicely on the brim of my had. I do with they made one a little smaller for on my hat. They have them, but not as bright and not rechargeable. It is also too long for the sheath that is recomended.

This wasn’t the gift box I received, but I do have this light. I like this light, but I do wish it had a thumb button on the rear of the light instead of on the side. Good little light tho!

Nice but lost the most important feature from the HX5. Numerous times I have pulled the HX5R out of my pocket and the light is on. With the switch on the side and not on the end cap like the HX5 the HX5R is much more prone to negligent discharging the light. It is also much more difficult to index for quick deployment. I do however like all of the lumens variables but most importantly not having to cycle them all every time just to turn it off. Construction is on par as well as the ability to use a normal AA battery if desired or needed. Overall good but less two stars for ND’s and indexing…which could both be fixed with an end cap switch like the HX5.

I've this flashlight for almost 4 years now and use it on the job pretty much every day. The 3.7 volt Li-Ion rechargeable battery is just starting to go but still works. It so convenient just to plug into a usb a charger.

Finally gave up, threw both of them in the garbage. Buying 2 more regular HX5 and using my own recharchable batteries. Had 2 HX5 for many yrs.wore them out.

I bought 2 of these models one for home and one for the car. Neither of them hold a charge for too long. Going back to regulat HX5 model Sitill have 1 of those. I use them with my own rechargable batteries and still going strong. I thought it woud be convinient to just plug them in to a USB port. versus having to take the batteries out of my regular HX5. Instead XH5R are never ready when I need them the most.

The weight of this flashlight is a little bit more heavier than I liked on a full charge battery life last 30 to 40 minutes continuously on. There is no warning signal letting you know battery is about to die there’s been several times I’ve been in inside an attic and it just turned completely off…!!!!
