I have had this knife for a few years, it came to me quite dull though. It is an impressive hunk of steel though, i feel i could take on a bear with this knife.

I bought this about a year ago. I live up in the Adirondack mountains. I have taken that out as my bushcrafting knife. It's a little large. You can get used to it, but as far as making kinling processing stuff around the camp, this knife is a beast holds an edge great overall. I would recommend this to anybody that does outdoor work
1917 Frontier Bowie, Ready to hunt!

The 1917 Frontier Bowie has a great shape, very sharp blade and is generally well made. The balance is good, and the overall construction is very sound. The sheath is solid and easy to use, but its belt hoop is large and floppy. I wouldn't recommend wearing it on your belt. Especially considering the length of the blade. I only have one concern and that's the handle construction. The wood is nice looking and comfortable to handle, but the screws detract from the overall look. The knife is not subtle and makes a statement. I recommend the knife.
Historically beautiful and functionally excellent

it is sharp and sturdy, built for use. I feel confident its quillons will hold up to defense and the blade is strong and capable. Its historical look makes it at home at buckskin gatherings and recreations.
Amazing!!

I just received my Frontier Bowie a couple of days ago and it just awesome. It’s sharp, it’s strong, it’s comfortable in my hand, it’s big. I really don’t know what else to say.

I bought this knife for a bush/utility knife for use when camping and hunting. This is a well built knife. The steel is strong, the pieces well assembled and tight, the handle beautifully done. I have used it for trail cleanup, camp setup, and even rough butchering of a kill. This knife has retained its sharpness after much abuse. It is too big for skinning or detailed work and too small to truly replace a machete. However, it's excellent balance and size lend it to being a good multi-use knife for larger tasks. Not sure how well it will do for fighting but, again, it is well balanced and thrusts, slices, and chops exceedingly well.
