Got this cooler for a Christmas present and it was well-received for sure! It is a replacement for my parents' Coleman cooler they have had for about 15 years. Their first held up well, so we have high expectations for this new one as well!

Terrible cooler. The lid flops open and starts tearing the screws out before getting any use out of it. Coleman dropped the ball on these “marine” coolers. Transported it to the Bahamas and gave away to a resident. Lid is also barely capable of holding an adult. Ridiculous.

This cooler was purchased because of the ice retention for camping. Sales display and literature said 5 day ice retention. Specs say 3 day ice retention. I am having to reload ice on a daily basis. This cooler was even kept in the shade and it still eats ice. I would not recommend this cooler.

Our first camping trip this spring for 5 days. The label says 6 days. Temps were high in low 70's, lows in the 40's. And we came home with ice. Great job. I froze about 15 pounds of meat in ziplocks, and placed in plastic cereal boxed shaped containers. and put two gallons of frozen ice jugs. With about 24 cans and condiments. We came home with a golf ball sized ice cube in the gallon jugs, and cold meat! One more gallon of ice and it would have made 6 days, no doubt. This is the best way to not have a cooler full of melted ice and your food swimming???

This cooler keeps ice really well, for that I would give 5 stars. I have used it camping and trips to the lake. it kept ice as long as my friends Orca.. The problem is, one of the handles got broken, and I cannot find a replacement for it. Because it is a broken handle, it stays at home and can really only be used around the house, because I cant carry it anywhere.

The label says the ice chest will stay cold for up to 6 days. In Central Texas it last about 8 hours until the ice is totally melted. This was a huge waste of money.

Worked great the couple times we used it last summer. Put it away for the winter with nothing on top of it and the lid completely warped. Cooler is not junk and won’t shut! Very disappointed. Complete waste of money!

Cooler itself is okay, but handle is actually pulling out of the side of cooler. We hadn’t used it, until today and my husband noticed it. It won’t be long until the handle completely pulls out of the side, at which point I don’t know how we would carry it.

We bought this cooler after having a Coleman xtreme 3 for the last 10-15 years it’s great keeps ice for a couple days. So we thought this one claiming to keep ice for 5 days would be even better. We brought it camping and each day had to drain and refill the ice, it would only last a few hours with the lid shut and in the shade at 30°c

Bought this cooler two weeks ago. Went camping for 5 days, first ice (7 lb bag and 5 frozen solid bottles of water) didn't last through the 2nd day. Temps in the 70's during the day, upper 50's at night, cooler kept in the shade during daytime hours. After day two it was a new 7 lb bag of ice each day. Label says it keeps ice "up to 5 days".....I guess that is possible if you fill up the entire cooler with solid blocks of ice.

I have the older blue version of this cooler and it is the best cooler I have ever owned. I took food in it with frozen water bottles camping in the Utah desert and the water bottles still had ice after a week. There were days when it was in a hot car while we hiked. I am always amazed at how long ice lasts in this cooler.

We needed a cooler that would keep meals frozen, other foods cold for a multi-day car trip to our vacation rental. The new Coleman 316 was perfect. After 3 days in the car, ice and meals were still frozen on arrival. In fact, the Coleman still had ice 5 days into the vacation. Between performance and reasonable price, this was a perfect purchase for us.

Bought this for Sturgis trip. Says keeps ice 5 days try 2.5 at best even after first bag cooled unit down and melted in one day after traveling in truck with ac on. Cooler has been in shade the entire time. 22lb bag added sat night is now 75-80% water in 48hrs. CAN’T wait to get home and return it.
