The tab is a bit tough to break off but overall it's a good product. Almost as soon as I set these out the ants came running into it and began dying! The only mess to clean up is the dead ants! I was extremely excited when I received this product to try out because I had just been talking with my spouse about a new problem in the house, ANTS!! The ants crawl into the bait and carries the bait to the queen which in turn kills the colony. They are easy to use and set up around the house, indoors or outdoors. They are child friendly since the poison is contained inside so it is okay if they touch them. That gave me peace of mind. I also like that they are usable inside or out. Here in Texas, where the climate is warmer, ants are very active for much of the year. Fire ants have huge colonies and are an aggressive species here. I have an issue with giant ant beds all in the front yard. I cannot even cut my grass without having to worry about stepping in one. I will destroy it and then they will build it back, bigger. I had a small batch of sugar ants in my kitchen , so I placed one of the bait stations on my kitchen counter and I could watch the ants go in the bait station, then come out and take bait back to its colony and queen!
