Awfully dry, horribly salty! Very stringy. I have niw learned the difference between corned beef brisket & this!!! I'll stick with the brisket cut!

Thank you for your review. I am sorry corned beef fell short of expectations.There are two common causes for a dry result. If you are simmering the corned beef on the stove top and there isn't enough water to cover the meat, the result is typically tough, chewy beef. Cooking at a too high temperature can also cause this. High heat is not a friend to corned beef. Either a low gentle simmer on the stove top or in a slow cooker are two methods to try. The roast is absolutely delicious and the meat is good quality. The spices it comes with are perfect. I put mine in a large pot with chourico and the spices and in the last 30 min throw in potatoes carrots and onions. So amazing and it’s a family favorite.

Smoked the Cook's Corned Beef Round for 5 hours at 260 degrees and an additional 1 1/2 hours wrapped in foil at 200 degrees. Turned out great. Perfect for slicing for sandwiches. Time and relatively low heat breaks down the connective tissue that can make corned beef rubbery. Low and slow is the way.

A foul abomination. Weirdly gummy with the texture of hot dogs. If you told me it was grown in a lab I would believe you.
