Is this even meat? Do not buy. They plump up nicely in the oven and deflate into cardboard looking and tasting "something". We threw them away, no one could eat this.

This is solely a product review, not a store review. I do not recommend the ‘Cooked Perfect’ Italian Style Meatballs. I would’ve preferred to see ground beef or any kind of recognizable meat in place of the foamy, spongy grey substance. I’ve tasted over a dozen varieties of frozen meatballs. The consistency of this one reminded me of the most dense, foamy McNugget. Over processed and not recognizable as food. The texture was horrible. The taste was okay, although I had to use a very good marinara, red peppers, and other seasonings to bring some life to them. To counter the dense spongey feel, I removed them from the slow cooker, cut them up to sear all sides of small pieces on the cooktop. It helped a little, but I still feel badly about feeding them to my kids.
