A: I just purchased this… How would you buy a new weighted base if the pole is not long enough to go into a new base? The base provided does not hold up the umbrella!

Q: How come the manufacturing quality has not been updated? Now that mine broke due to mis-aligned holes so only 1 rivet was holding the plastic to the support pole I see others have been reporting similar problems for awhile!

Just purchased this… I’m only giving it two stars because it’s pretty…love the look and the solar lights. The base supplied does NOT hold up the umbrella at all!! The umbrella pole is too short to purchase a brand new heavy square base to make this work at all! It doesn’t even stand up straight! I was looking forward to using all Summer and it is really upsetting.

Umbrella looks good, easy to assemble, seems sturdy. Unfortunately it only lasted one summer. Took it out of storage to use for a second summer and the umbrella is detached hanging by a wire. And the crank seems more stiff and coming undone as well. It will need replaced. Make sure you purchase the insurance. I wish I had.

Prior to purchasing, I read the reviews and they seemed very mixed. The bad reviews are all accurate. This is the worst umbrella. It is made very poor. There are no straps to secure the umbrella when it is not in use so it catches the wind when down. Sliding it up and down to open and close it is very difficult. After 1 month, the umbrella became detached from the top base and was only hanging onto the wire for the solar lights. Clearly this snapped and now it is useless. What a waste.
