Other reviewers were totally correct about plastic that covers this unit. IMPOSSIBLE to take off so I left it on (and hope it will eventually peel off). Edges are incredibly sharp and yes I did draw blood while assembling it. Very cheaply made for the price......................even the sales price.........................

I absolutely love my Outdoor Elevated Garden Plant Stand! It has made gardening so much easier and more enjoyable.

This plant stand is cute and reasonably functional (see heat problem), but all of the steel parts arrive encased in sticky plastic film! You have to peel all of that stuff off, which is not easy because the film wants to come off in small strips. Because the painted steel heats up (too much, really, for plants) in the sun, the way I got the wrapping off was to put all the parts out in the mid-day sun. This softens the glue and the plastic sheeting enough to make the peeling somewhat easier (after cooking in the summer sun, the parts were almost too hot to handle, though). Did the manufacturer not think any of this through? There are sharp edges on the pieces, too. I ended up with cuts on my hands. Even with the protective film, the three stands I received have several deep scratches from shipping. The paint color is not the lime green I see in the listing, but something closer to bright olive — still pretty, but not what I was expecting. And because the metal gets so hot in the sun, these planter boxes are not suitable for direct planting unless they are in the shade. I have filled mine with potted plants. Overall, these are okay, but I am not thrilled with this purchase.
