"The twists come as fast [as] you can turn the pages." --People "Provocative and shocking." --Lisa Gardner, New York Times bestselling author of Find Her "I read this novel at one sitting, absolutely riveted by the storyline. The suspense was beautifully rendered and unrelenting!" --Sue Grafton, New York Times bestselling author of X It all started at a dinner party. . . A domestic suspense debut about a young couple and their apparently friendly neighbors--a twisty, rollercoaster ride of lies, betrayal, and the secrets between husbands and wives. . . Anne and Marco Conti seem to have it all--a loving relationship, a wonderful home, and their beautiful baby, Cora. But one night, when they are at a dinner party next door, a terrible crime is committed. Suspicion immediately lands on the parents. But the truth is a much more complicated story. Inside the curtained house, an unsettling account of what actually happened unfolds. Detective Rasbach knows that the panicked couple is hiding something. Both Anne and Marco soon discover that the other is keeping secrets, secrets they've kept for years. What follows is the nerve-racking unraveling of a family--a chilling tale of deception, duplicity, and unfaithfulness that will keep you breathless until the final shocking twist.Review Quotes
"Meticulously crafted and razor-sharp. The Couple Next Door lingers long after you turn the final page."--Harlan Coben, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Fool Me Once The twists come as fast as you can turn the pages.
--People
Provocative and shocking. One crime, an entire neighborhood of suspects, secrets and lies. How well do we ever know those around us? The Couple Next Door will keep you glued the pages in search of the answer. Even then, you'll never guess the truth...until it's too late."
--Lisa Gardner, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Find Her

--Associated Press
"[A] suspenseful, heart-wrenching debut. . . After numerous twists and turns, Lapena delivers one final, deftly crafted surprise."
--Publishers Weekly "Brisk prose style and character development are almost beside the point in Lapena's suspense-fiction debut; this is a plot-driven page-turner, and even the most character-focused readers will find it hard to put down."

Not very exciting, predictable, and like another review said it’s very repetitive. I think it would be an interesting read for pre-teens but as an adult I would pass.

Get this book!! It is a page turner- I was hooked and didn’t want to put it down. I read it in 3 days (would have been sooner if I could read sun up to sun down) usually in the middle of a book it starts to slow down and get a little dull, but this was NOT the case in fact, with every page it seemed to get more exciting!

It started off strong then towards the middle end it just became repetitive. Constantly repeating the same thing over and over. I actually skipped several pages because of that. If don’t read this book I can assure you that you aren’t missing out.

Easy read, mildly entertaining. A few quists and turns but mostly predictable. I'm not saying, "not to read it" but you aren't missing much if you don't.
