Q: Will sanding sugar work?

A: Hi, the Large crystal sanding sugar will not work because it take a higher heat to melt the larger granules. Fine sugars work best. thank you

Q: Do you HAVE to let it run the full 38 minutes or can we unplug earlier?

A: Hello, no you can turn off or unplug the unit before the 38 minute self shut and cool down period. Please make sure though that all the sugar you have put in the unit has been melted and turned to floss so that no more is coming out. This way the melted sugar won't solidify in the spinner and clog. Also allow the unit to cool down before cleaning it. Thank you.

I bought this for my sons party and I bought the correct sugar and cones and it did not work at all. The machine only worked for one very small amount of cotton candy and after an hour of trying it didn’t not bring out the cotton candy. I also made sure the machine didn’t get stuck with too much sugar. I do not recommend.

If the machine is not entirely warmed up or the bowl isn't correctly on the unit it will not produce floss. If you do one spoonful at a time it will make a “baseball size” ball of Cotton Candy, as shown on the package. The floss should continue to come out as long as it is fed sugar. Sorry for this inconvenience.

Worked for a day, was happy with product and kids like it but it won't work turn on next day. it was my second purchase after the first one, which did not work from 2nd day. Called company and left voice message and emailed but no respond. Don't waste your money. There are other brands. I learned it by buying it twice and both times it failed. readother reviews

First surprise, it does not come with *any* ingredients. No flavoring, nothing. So I got sugar, ordered concentrated candy flavoring, in the meantime found some lemon extract in the pantry and added food dye for color. However, I'm not sure it's even going to work. The instructions don't match the actual unit at all. It shows "off and on" but the bowl only has "bowl release" and "lock" and the arrow doesn't line up to anything except the arrow by Lock, but that's actually when it's turned in the direction for the bowl release. Then there's the QR code for the "User Friendly Video Instructions!" which show a unit that looks slightly different and says to plug in and flip a switch on the cord, which does not exist on this unit. There's also no light that turns on when it is plugged in. Been waiting over 5 minutes and no sign that it is working. Inconvenient and disappointing, wish I had read reviews before ordering. Oh, and the company doesn't appear to actually sell any of the flavoring packs or whatever either. Looks like they ought to stick to art supplies.

Our Unit does not come with sugar included.It works with regular fine granule white cane table sugar. There are other colored sugars on the market (again fine granule) that will work. if you added a lemon extract or food dye this will not work in the unit. It needs to be dry. it seems as though you might have the wrong instruction sheet for this model unit. It should have ON, OFF and Bowl Release on the bowl. If the bowl is correctly lined up when plugged in the Red light will go on for 4 minutes to warm up. When it turns Green the unit is ready for dry sugar to be added. If you call our 1-800-272-9278 Customer Service number we can send you an updated instruction booklet. Again sorry for this inconvenience.

Please make sure the Bowl is twisted into the ON position. If it is in the OFF or Bowl Release position, or in-between it will not turn on or stay on. The blinking Red light should just last for 3-4 minutes and then turn to a Green light, showing it is warmed up so that sugar can be added. Some times after the unit is cleaned the bowl is not correctly locked into place. Again we are sorry for the inconvenience.

First one didn’t work. Only showed a blinking red line and didn’t spin. As it was a birthday present my child really wanted we exchanged it. The second one did work, but I’m not optimistic for how long. I do wish it contained a small starter set of floss sugar as it is hard to find so we just used regular sugar and a little bit of kool aid mix for flavor. I do recommend to add the sugar very, very slowly. I put it on the middle and let it vibrate in. Also, this is very expensive in store compared to the online price. (Target will price match) The online price makes it worth it, but not sure if it is worth the full in store price.
