Crayola Silly Putty Silly Scents

I bought this silly putty for my son’s stocking 2 years ago and he still plays with it occasionally. He loves mystery toys so he enjoyed the surprise of the scent but we received pineapple so maybe he would have like it less if it was a less pleasant scent. Great fidget for adhd kids in my opinion. If it gets into textiles it will stick so be careful with that.

The smell is awful. We bought two and they smelled so bad we had to throw them away.

These were interesting. Didn't last long as my son wasn't impressed with the scents. He's only 5, so maybe for an older kid they'd see the humor. My son was grossed out 😂😂

Got this product as a gift for my daughter. The first one I gave her the experience went well. She enjoyed it, it helped with her fine motor skills, and she didn’t get it all over. Gave her another one for her birthday the other day. She had it for 24 hours and got it on a fuzzy polyester blanket. I have tried rubbing alcohol & hand sanitizer nothing has worked. I searched this website and there is no information about how to get this product out of anything. Sill putty is now banned from my house because there doesn’t seem to be an agent available to remove this gunk. I tried adding a picture of the blanket caked with putty but it’s not allowing me to upload it.

I don't understand how some reviewers are "surprised" by the scent, when the name of the product IS "mystery". If we knew beforehand what the scents were, we'd pick specifically those that we like. But we buy them fully knowing that it's supposed to be a "mystery" smell, which pretty much means "Anything goes"...Also, this item is designed with kids in mind and we know that kids like weird, gross, anything that grownups detest. So don't criticize the company for coming up with something that entertains this segment of consumers.

... just keep in mind that this version absolutely stinks! We got what I would describe as a "good" smelling one and wow it is powerful... you KNOW when the kiddo is playing with the stuff as the scent of fake grape candy permeates the entire house... otherwise, great stuff... lots of fun...

I bought this and was so excited, opened it and felt nauseous. It smelled like burnt something, really bad burn. I got the ''campfire'' one. It was nauseating, and the fact that you don't know if you'll get a revolting scent or a nice scent is terrible... I didn't expect the bad scent to be THAT bad!! I WOULD NOT recommend it!

I bought this for my kids for Easter. We got 6 out of 9 scents! We got 4 good smells and 2 stinky smells. It was great fun. I recommend this for olders kids. Wash your hands and dont put your fingers in your mouth. The pickle & mud smells got a great laughs!

Ours Was Dried Out . Dry And Stinky

I'm an adult woman who has an obsession with "fidget" toys. Silly Putty is my hands down go to item. I love this product and it can last for a few months. I would've given it 5 stars but I recently came across a "Mystery" putty that had a horrible odor. It smelled like burning wood. To my surprise, after looking it up online I found that "Campfire" is the scent for the Mystery silver Silly Putty. This one was sure a disappointment (to my nose). Love the products....albeit this particular one.

Seemed like same old regular putty just with a smell and color. We got pickle which is supposed to be a stinky one but it really wasn't that bad. We didn't know the scents in the beginning so it was fun guessing the smell. Smell does linger on your hands some. I would imagine that would be expected considering your playing with something scented..... with your hands.

TERRIBLE! I BOUGHT THIS SO LONG AGO AND I HATED IT. I GOT PICKLE AND I ALMSOT THREW UP. DO NOT GET IT IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR CHILD TO DIE!

My doctor recommended silly putty for my daughter who is having anxiety issues and I thought the scents would be a fun twist. I bought the only two on the shelf. One ended up being blueberry and the other campfire. The campfire smelled so strongly I had to immediately throw it in the trash. I dont understand why the scents are so strong. Pretty disappointed in the waste.

Bought these as surprises at holiday time for my kids. Both kids thought the smell was too strong and neither has played with them since opening to see what color/smell they received.

My kids greatly enjoy these! We got one sweet smelling one and another that may be a bad scent (possibly campfire). The bad scent is very light. My kids are 3 and 5, they love them. The 10 year old likes them as well so I will purchase one for her. I like that there isn’t much. Same amount from the little egg silly putty containers we used to use as kids. It also isn’t slime, which is fantastic! Not stuck clothes or carpet.

Very little product inside, nice smell but not much to play with for kids.

Sure it stretches and pops, but who can enjoy the fun when the scent makes your child gag?? Irresponsible toy from Crayola and a waste of money. Look for unscented and don’t take a chance on these mystery ones. Ours smelled kinda like chocolate at first I thought, but must have been mud or poop, not sure. Either way, my poor child was starting to get sick immediately upon opening it with gag coughing.

We bought 3 of these for my 3 sons, guess we got unlucky and got 2 of the stinky smells. These are just too much, the mud/dirt literally smells like poop and the campfire smell lingers for days on food and in the house. My kids are beyond disappointed and I'm mad I even spent any money on them. They are terrible... just terrible.

I am horrified!! Crayola my family got so sick from the silly putty I am shocked. After purchasing and bringing to home to my toddler. He loves playdough and clay. He started playing with this and next thing I knew he was crying and spitting and gagging. I had no idea what was wrong. I gave him a new lollipop to try the caramel apple ones and I thought it was that. I was so wrong. The next day I asked him to show his daddy his new toy. He didn’t want anything to do with it! I grabbed it and started playing with it. Not thinking anything of it. An hour passes and I have washed my hands numerous times since being a mom and all. I go to wipe my mouth and have this horrible chemical taste all over my lips and hands. I start googling asking why I am omitting this chemical bitter taste from my body. My husband asked me what was wrong as I had a severe headache and nauseas as all hell. I explained my symptoms I thought I got poisoned seriously. He stated he had the same problem every since touching the silly putty. We got so sick. I need to look into what to do next. This should be recalled and removed from all shelves immediately.
