Q: The putty has stained my bed sheets. How do I get the stain out?
A: We use 99% Isopropyl rubbing alcohol, the highest concentration is the best, to remove putty from fabrics and carpeting. We have also had excellent results using Purell or another alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Using Purell keeps the gel in one area a bit better than regular rubbing alcohol. Always test an inconspicuous area first, then liberally wet the surface. The alcohol will start to break down the putty. After you have removed the bigger pieces, you will need to wet the surface and use a washcloth to rub at the putty. The alcohol and friction should remove the putty. If the putty has a color, you can use any stain remover you're comfortable with to remove it. Always make sure the putty is completely gone, or the stain remover will not work on the color. The colors we use are often cosmetic grade. We recommend using an oil-based soap, the brand that we have had great results with is called Fels-naptha.
