Hoping to give a few pointers on this product as it is very tricky to use. First of all, I have been a professional graphic designer for over 40 years and way back before computers I had extensive experience in creating product packaging mock-ups for presentation and use in tv commercials. 1) This product takes time and patience. It is essential to have a Cricut burnisher. 2) Once you have weeded your vinyl (I’m using the silver metallic), carefully position the transfer material over your vinyl to be transferred and burnish both sides of your art really well using a lot of pressure. I go over it quite a lot and continue to burnish while I’m pulling the backing off of the vinyl. If the art is not sticking to the transfer paper, continue to work at small parts at a time as you slowly keep peeling the backing. It will stick to the transfer tape. 3) Now here’s the trickiest part. Position your vinyl onto the surface you want to apply it to. Burnish, burnish and burnish some more. How you peel the transfer paper has everything to do with this working. Start at one end and peel at a very low angle - do not try lifting the transfer sheet straight up. Keep the angle low and pull little by little. If your vinyl starts to peel and isn’t sticking, put the transfer sheet back down and keep burnishing. This is tricky, but I’ve had 100% success with this method.

Maybe this is good for other types of vinyl, but permanent vinyl will not transfer. I was very disappointed

Oh no! I am sorry to hear you had some trouble with the transfer tape. The strong grip tape is used more for vinyls that have a texture, like glitter vinyl, since it is a lot stronger. For permanent vinyl we recommend using regular strength transfer tape. regular vinyl will not come off of this tape. i dont use glitter vinyl so its useless to me. stopped using after 2 failed decals..

Hi there! Our strong grip transfer tape is intended more for materials that have a texture on them, like glitter or shimmer vinyl. It is a bit too strong to handle normal vinyl, which is likely why you ran into some problems. I do tend to use the regular grip version of this transfer tape, but I have found that with the glitter vinyls that it is much easier and much more effective to use the strong grip. Just a word of cation though... let it sit and very cautious and gentle when peeling it from the vinyl.
