Q: Can I put the ceramic pot in over

submitted by Maureen - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes, I have used mine in the oven to reheat, but like the the post above says, I place it in oven cold and let it warm up as the oven warms up. I usually only reheat at 350* to avoid drying out the ingredients. This is a great basic slow cooker !

submitted bykatdan - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes, the removable Crock-Pot® stoneware (not lid) is oven safe up to 400° F. When using the stoneware in your oven, do not preheat the oven. Place the stoneware in a cold oven and then turn the oven on. The stoneware cannot be used in the broiler. Thanks and have a great day.

Q: How is this programmable? A recipe is supposed to be cooked on low for 4 hours, and there's no way to set this, unless I missed it in the manual? Thanks.

submitted by AshleyMP - 7 years ago
  • A: Once you turn on select the low cycle, then press select to scroll through to the 4 hrs.

submitted byrop - 7 years ago
  • A: The programmable function, refers to the 4 digital preset cooking modes and the automatic switch to warm function. For short cooking time recipes that call for 4 hours on low, you would have to stop the cooking process yourself after the 4 hours. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for providing your feedback.

Q: can you do a pot roast

submitted by evelyn - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes, I have done a pot roast in this crock pot.

submitted byBri - 7 years ago
  • A: Yes, you can make delicious pot roast with this Crock-Pot® Programmable 6 Qt. Slow Cooker. Thank you for your question. Below is a recipe from our website. Melt In Your Mouth Roast & Gravy Ingredients 3 to 5 pound Chuck Roast 1 (10 Ounce) can of Cream of Mushroom 1 Packet of Onion Soup Mix 1 Medium onion -chopped 2 medium carrots-chopped (optional) 2 Tablespoons All-Purpose Flour Drizzle of Olive Oil Print Shopping List Instructions Lightly coat roast with flour and drizzle oil in a large skillet or non-stick pan over med-high heat. Place flour-coated roast in pan and sear meat on all sides, ( approximately 2 to 3 minutes on each side) then remove from heat. This step is optional but color on the meat equals flavor. In a medium bowl, mix the can of cream of mushroom and the packet of onion soup till well blended. Toss in the chopped onion and carrots into your Crock-Pot®, then place the roast on top of the vegetables. Finally, with a rubber spatula, spread the soup mix evenly over the roast. Cook on Low for 8 hours. The juice of the roast will blend with the soup mix to make its own gravy. Serve over mashed potatoes or cooked rice & Enjoy!

Q: are you supposed the lock the lid when cooking? Or do you only lock when you carry?

submitted by roz - 1 month ago
  • A: Hello Roz, Thanks for sharing your quesiton. For the Crock-Pot 6qt Cook & Carry One-Touch Programmable Slow Cooker, you should only lock the lid when transporting the cooker. When cooking, the lid should remain unlocked to allow proper steam ventilation and prevent pressure buildup. Locking the lid during cooking could cause issues with steam release and may affect the cooking process. If you have any more questions, please reach out to us on our official website's Contact page, through our LiveChat or call us at 1-800-323-9519. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Have a great day, —CrockPot Consumer Care

Q: Can I use my Crock Pot brand iStir lid that is from an older model Crock Pot that I have on any new 6 quart Crock Pot? Would love to use the iStir technology from that previous model on a new Crock Pot, as long as it would properly fit and function.

submitted by Ra - 1 month ago
  • A: Hi Ra, Thanks for the question. We recommend using the lid designed for your specific Crock-Pot model. Each model is engineered with precise specifications to ensure proper fit, function, and safety. Older model lids, including the iStir lid, are not designed for newer Crock-Pot models and may not fit or operate correctly. For the best performance, we suggest using the lid that comes with your new Crock-Pot. For other questions, we strongly encourage you to reach out to us directly via our official "Contact Us" page or calling us at 1-800-323-9519. Thank you! Have a wonderful day. —Crock-Pot Consumer Care
