Q: There's plastic inside the kettle on the pour spout and strainer. I removed the strainer, but can't get the plastic pour spout off. Is this removable?

The clear material on the water level indicator is made of TPX Polymethylpentene the characteristics are similar to those of traditional polyolefins TPX features superb clarity, transparency, gas permeability, heat and chemical resistance and release qualities. Q: I would like to boil water for a full minute; does this kettle allow for that, or will it shut off automatically once it reaches a boil?
A: It will shut off automatically once it reaches a boil as a safety feature

Q: Do the numbers on the button rub off?
A: The numbers on the buttons should not rub off - they're designed to last the lifetime of the kettle.

A: Thank you for your inquiry. All of Cuisinart’s electronics and most of the cookware are manufactured in China. We have some non-electric tea kettles that are made in Thailand, and we have a Cookware set that is made in France, called our French Collection.

Q: They say that the water does not come in contact with plastic, but the window where you can see the level IS plastic. Just because it’s BPA free doesn’t mean it’s not plastic. So, it DOES come in contact with the plastic that is window, correct?
