DampRid crystals absorb excess moisture out of the air without use of electricity or batteries, while preventing moisture damage to your valuable possessions. Time-Release Fragrance Technology releases a pleasant scent over the life of the product. Place these moisture absorbers in closets, bathrooms, laundry rooms, pantries, storage units, basements, garages, stored boats and RVS – anywhere damp, stagnant air is a problem. Bought this item last week for the kitchen cabinet, and the scent on the box clearly states “fresh scent.” But smell that comes out this thing is horrid. It literally smelled up my entire kitchen so bad I had to throw it out.

I like hot and steamy showers and always notice how much moisture is in there and how much it begins to smell like mildew after awhile -- including my towels. I was hoping that this would help with the mold buildup that bathrooms can sometimes get. I have noticed a bit of a difference but not as drastic as I would have hoped. I like the product and was looking forward to seeing how good it would work - but I also do not like the smell. I wish it was fragrance free as I have a glade plugin in the bathroom and the scents mixing nearly makes me feel nauseous. I am not very sensitive to smells, but this one I can definitely do without.

The directions were so simple in putting the device together however the bottom doesn't quite seal on which is why I gave it four stars. It still works perfectly fine as long as you don't move it around alot and give a nice fresh scent through the disc that slides in the top. It's absolutely perfect to place anywhere in your house since it's small and convenient to use and just as simple to empty out the humid water through the nozel on the side. If you're like me and occasionally wash and hang clothing in your house then you definitely want to have one of these to keep those musty odors at bay.

The smell is horrible! Smells like you’re walking into a dirty old bathroom with “fresh” scent. I’m trying to figure out where I can find the unscented one. In the description it does say they have it! But where!?

I set this up behind the washer and dryer to help with the residual moisture, and it did exactly what we needed it to. No musty wet basement smells here! I really like that it’s refillable too, meaning I can keep this around for future situations like this.

The tablet that came with it is "fresh scent". Did they smell this during production? I placed it in my bathroom and went into a bathroom that smelled like pee. The tablet itself smells so bad it's like cat pee. This was right out of the package. Would not recommend. Maybe buy an unscented tablet separately.

The scent was clean and pure. Only downside is that the water collection tank could be made with a little thicker plastic. Other than that this product is great!!

The tablet holder is a little weak and the top easily pop out every time I hold the bottom container. The lid doesn’t latch in but it doesn’t affect anything. I find the smell of the tablet is pretty strong and I do not smell the fresh scent. I personally do not like this smell and it linger pretty long. Overall, this is an effective product for getting the moisture out. However, the container and the top need a more secure snap feature. Also, it would be nice to have different scent to make the smell more pleasant.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a needed product for our basement, so I was super happy getting to use it! The fresh scent of it is very nice, it's not too strong but enough to enjoy it in the area. I'm very glad because I'm picky when it comes to "fresh scent" labeled items. Instructions are easy to follow, just drop the tablet in and let it do it's thing until it's all gone and time to pour it out. Unfortunately the only downside for me which is why I scored it a 3, is that the plastic is kind of flimsy and cheap so it doesn't shut properly on the top and if you don't pick it up the right way the top will pop off. All in all I like the idea of the product and how it works, just not the plastic it's made with.
