The auto restart feature will restart after a power failure and with the direct drain feature you have the option of continuous operation. Energy Star rated, this unit also comes with a 24-hour timer that allows you to run your Danby dehumidifier during off-peak hours to help save on your monthly hydro bill. The automatic de-icer feature allows the unit to run in temperatures as low as 5°C (41 °F).

Ordered to replace old model used for 15 yrs. Works well removing humidity however very noisy motor and hose provided was crimped so bad it was unusable. Ok for basement use.

So far it is working as expected. I bought two other Danby Humidifiers before. The last one lasted only for about 5 years. According to the reviewed they are supposed to last 8-15 years. Hopefully this one will. If not I am changing the brand for good.

30 pint size for our 850 sq ft basement with 5 windows is working great. Having a garden hose or using the supplied plastic one works perfect for continous draining. Sound level is fine. The compact size is very appreciated. The 2 year warranty was a big factor after my Frigidaire died 13 months into use.
