DaVinci MDB Bookcase

Pros: it looks great, price Cons: shelves can only go in one spot (not adjustable) so tall books have to go sideways because you can't just lower the shelf to have more room. Additionally, I put books across one shelf and a month later you can see a slight sag in that shelf. I would not call this heavy duty, but I'm overall satisfied because of the price and look. Did not come with anchors to the wall so we had to buy those separately.

It’s fine, but definitely not any better than a $150 Amazon version. For $300 I would expect either the design foresight to put the letter label/stickers on sides that aren’t seen or a quality enough sticker that I don’t have to fight tooth and nail to get it off. Also drives me crazy that this espresso is different than my other espresso DaVinci furniture. I could’ve gotten the exact quality for half the price on Amazon and stuck with the brand for the finishes to match and they don’t. If I could rewind a few weeks ago, I’d just save my money and get a different one that may not match the wood I have either.

This bookcase is beautiful! It looks exactly like the photo. The instructions say it takes two people to assemble, but I did the whole thing myself with no issues.

Seems like a reasonable product and appropriately priced. The drawer slides needed to be disssembled but no instructions given. The drawer sides are right and left specific but weren't labled.

The bookshelf came with screw holes in the wrong place so the drawer doesn’t work. There is no way to check or know that until the very end. There is no easy way to return this and a pain to do so, because we would have to rebuild a new one. I won’t be buying this again.

This bookcase would be very nice, but when it comes with multiple pieces dented and corners dented and crumbling it is very frustrating. It costs too much to arrive with so many issues. Every shelf had a big dent right in the front and center. The top piece had two corners damaged. There were other pieces with dents and corners cracking/damaged that were less noticeable once put together.

The item is cheap and has a trifold back that shows the cracks between the seams and the item itself arrived peeling and damaged.

Chestnut color is darker than what is pictured in the photo.

Dislike the fact that I had to wait for it to be in stock, then went to assembly and side panel was cracked and hole chipped off side

This bookcase is worth the price. I actually purchased it for my bathroom - I liked the slight arch feature on top and bottom. It's also a great size - not too short or tall. It was very easy to put together and I'm very happy with my purchase. I was reluctant to order chestnut, but its actually a very nice brown (almost walnut). This is an impressive piece!

Great looking book shelf. Easy to put together, and my daughter and I did it in less than an hour. The product was delivered with some damage. Top shelf has a dime sized ding in it discoloring and chipping out some wood. Aside from that, it looks great. Assembly was easy enough for a six year old to do it.

Ordered this for a boy's room in espresso. Came very well-packaged in enormous and extremely heavy box (realized later that bookshelf is part pine). Pieces were mostly labeled well and nothing was missing. The instruction manual was suprisingly easy to follow compared to some and except for the back panel, I got everything on right (put on back panel upside down which I didn't notice until I saw screws sticking out from inside). Strap to secure to wall was straightforward and useful. I think this is definitely a 2-person job for some parts of the process, like laying the side piece on and tightening. It did take me a long time to put it together - much longer than 1 hour. It looks nice and is substantial. However, there are components that still feel "cheap" like the piece on the back (which I predict will end up warping like they all do eventually) or the bottom drawer (still not sure what to put here as it obviously can only hold very light items). The wood on the back also already got knicked, peeling off easily, so I predict the same thing will happen to the front eventually. Might have just been worth ordering a real bookcase from a furniture store, but I'd thought this was easier (and cheaper). This bookcase is better quality than the cheapest kind you will find at a big box place, but could be better - especially given the higher price point (and it NEVER goes on sale either).

The quality of this book case was fine, but not impressive. The paint of one shelf was cracked for about 2cm when it arrived. We decided to tape it rather than return it as it was too heavy. We also found the drawer didn't slide smoothly. If we only hold one knob but not two knobs simultaneously, the drawer would get stuck. Moreover, the shelf wasn't as sturdy as we'd like to have. We could easily push on the empty shelf and make it wobble. I am a little disappointed.

Love this bookcase! We purchased it for our baby girl's nursery. The bookcase is just as pictured. Recommend this!

Good quality and easy to put together.

Excellent quality bookshelf. Sturdy, well made and reasonably easy to assemble. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the back is very flimsy and a pain to attach.

Very happy with these (I purchased two)! Well made, parts fit together well, heavy/stable on carpet. I would recommend this to anyone.

This is a great, high quality product. If you like the looks of this bookcase, buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Came in the mail, very sturdy, took 1 hour to assemble.
