About the Book

Successful business entrepreneur Allie Casazza shares her powerful and proven method for clearing the clutter in our minds by first clearing the clutter in our homes, the place where transformation begins.

Book Synopsis

Live lighter. Live freer. Live a bigger life with less.

In Declutter Like a Mother, Allie Casazza comes alongside you to explore:

  • Why decluttering calms anxiety in your heart and lessens tension in your relationships.
  • How to ensure your house is working for you, not against you.
  • Why kids thrive when they're not overwhelmed with options.
  • How to make time, when you feel you don't have time, to declutter.

Allie Casazza was tired of feeling it was her against the laundry in her home. She wondered if somewhere beneath her frantic days and the mountains of toys in the playroom she would ever find joy and peace in motherhood. Then she discovered the abundance . . . of less.

As she purged her home of excess stuff, Allie discovered a lifestyle that strengthened her marriage, saved her motherhood, and helped her develop her gifts in a way that no amount of new kitchen appliances or new organizing system ever could.

Research studies show a direct link between stress levels and the amount of physical possessions people have in their homes, and Allie has seen that truth play out in her own life and in the lives of hundreds of thousands of other moms she has mentored through her business and online courses. She proclaims:

You don't need a home that's perfect. You need a home that's lighter. Discover less stress, more space. Less chaos, more peace. Less of what doesn't matter, so you have room for what matters most of all.

Three stars because I haven’t finished reading the book, but so far: disappointing. I thought this book would be more like a “How to…” kind of book, like a list of steps, directly to the point, but I’m reading chapter 3 and it still feels like I’m reading the introduction. So far, she has only repeated how this book is going to change your home and life, over and over, like she is persuading you to buy it, when you already bought it. Thumbs down.

She has great tips but every chapter felt like she had the need to do a sales pitch to talk about her other classes/challenges/etc so if you want to get the full picture/tips/tricks of what she is talking about in the book, you have to get the other stuff as well.

I love her breakdown of how to declutter. It seems like a simple task. Just like budgeting money - right? But sometimes, we just need that guide, that helping hand, and encouraging "friend" to walk us through it. I highly recommend this book if you are struggling with the never-ending task of constantly picking up. Not necessarily just cleaning, but the picking up and moving of stuff. "The Stuff Shuffle." This book gave me the kick I needed to tackle my clutter. It's incredible how much lighter you feel when the stuff is all gone. Do it. Get it. You deserve this book to help you get your time and joy back.

Allie Casazza is absolutely amazing! She is a mom who just gets it. She understands how overwhelming motherhood can be and guides you through the decluttering process step-by-step in a way (and time frame) that works for you. She also helps you realize that decluttering and living a more minimalistic lifestyle isn’t a one-size- fits-all type of thing. if you are overwhelmed by all of the “stuff”, I very highly recommend this book!

A eye opening, actionable, thoughtful book to help you break down the steps of decluttering and simplifying your home to make space for what matters. Allie prompts you through some questions to find your “why” for decluttering and then walks you through, step by tangible step, how to declutter your home. This book was so inspiring, I did what she said by setting 30 minute timers and worked on chunks of our house during each session. Our home is so much lighter, happier, easier to maintain, I am less stressed, and so is the family. This is a must read for anyone with a family who wants to find my intention in life, less stress and chaos, and more peace. Because, as Allie explains, what takes up your space takes up your time, and clutter can literally steal your joy.

This book is about living a more simple life Not about organizing. If you want to live with less stuff so that you can have more time for what actually matters then this is the book for you. Allie is a mom of 4 and is very down to earth. Her outlook on minimalism is very different than most. It's about abundance not just having less for the sake of having less. Basically everything takes up your time, so is what you have in your space worth that time? Definitely a great read for everyone especially Mothers.

I never knew what it was like to come home and feel peace until Allie came into my life. I’ve done several of her challenges, listened to her podcasts, and purchased some of her courses. Now she has this amazing book, Declutter Like A Mother, that I can grab when I need something physical to get me back on track. I love that links are included in different sections that a reader might want/need more clarification or guidance in! Not only does it help with physical clutter, it also helps with the mindset to make long-term changes. This is an easy read and I highly recommend to anyone who is stressed and struggling keeping up with tasks in your home.

This book is amazing! I have followed Allie online for several years now. The advice she gives, and the way she encourages mothers in their journey is so uplifting and inspiring. I knew I would love her book, and I was right! I loved how true to Allie the book was. I cold hear her voice as I read her words. The book challenged me more than I ever thought it would. I had to put it down once when I was reading it on an airplane because I didn’t want to cry in front of complete strangers. But in the challenge, there was also hope. There was the knowledge that I can do this, and it will be a struggle sometimes, but it will be life changing. I really appreciated how Allie emphasized that decluttering is not a one size fits all approach. You don’t need to keep only a certain number of items if that’s not what works for you. That felt so freeing, and made me feel like I can do this! After reading this book, I know I can declutter my environment, and my doing so, change my life for the better! Thank you, Allie for this wonderful resource!

I love Allie Casazza! My favorite thing about her is the eager encouraging she does constantly. When I first came across her in 2015, I was in the thick of PPD and I credit her for the first steps in pulling myself out of it. This book to me is like a mash between her pop up Declutter Like a Mother Facebook challenge group and her podcasts. She puts so much of herself into the book. If you need help and encouragement for an overwhelming home, this is an awesome book to add to your bookshelf!

Allie walks you through each area of your home and gives real-life examples and tips on what to let go of. I love that she recommends taking stock of a space first and really thinking about how you can make it serve you and your family. Based on her advice, I totally overhauled a few spaces in our home to make them more functional and work better for our family. Declutter Like A Mother gave me the kick in the pants I needed to finally let go of some things that I’ve held onto for 10+ years. Clothes that were too small, daily planners that I’d never open again and expensive toys that the kids never play with. If you’re on a journey to simplify your home life, this is the book for you.

I absolutely loved this book!! Allie has a way with words. She’s a great motivator especially to those who are just starting out. Minimalism does not need to be about the numbers and having an empty house. She teaches you how to pare down the amount of items you have cluttering your home but also to keep enough that works for you and your family. I highly recommend this book to anyone who feels overwhelmed with the amount of “stuff” in their lives.
