Q: Does this have a chemical smell upon opening it? I've purchased from delta before and noticed that their items tend to smell strongly and want to avoid that in a crib.

I purchased this Delta Metal Crib specifically to avoid the problems I read about in other consumer complaints of chipping paint and off gassing of other Delta cribs. I figured metal was my best bet. BEWARE the powder coating WILL CHIP if you hand tighten the bolts then need to loosen for whatever reason. In my case, I needed to remove the front bars to install the toddler rails. (Grandchild just started climbing out.) The crib and toddler rails are both brand new--Purchased 2 weeks ago. The powder coating should not chip with Grandma grip hand tightening. Also BEWARE the hardware is pretty cheap and will easily strip. Delta, to the company's credit, does supply a few extra hardware pieces (not enough) but will send you an extra hardware kit for free upon request. Why not add a few more free bolts in the crib purchase? It went together pretty easily with one person. Other than this issue, looks good.

We love this crib! The quality is excellent. It was easy to put together and is very sturdy. It’s a great height if you’re a shorter parent, easy to reach in and out of with the mattress at either height. The finish on the metal feels very durable and should last a long time! We love being able to buy one bed and have it last for many years. Delta children’s is a go to brand for us.

I ordered this crib in anticipation of our second baby. I’m always hesitant to try a new (to us) brand. I found the look of this crib to match exactly the aesthetic we were going for at a great price. It shipped & delivered incredibly quick, perfect for last minute shoppers like us. Assembly: super easy and user friendly. My husband was able to put the crib together while wrangling a 2 year old in under 25 minutes. Instructions were incredibly clear. Quality: for our first baby, we had a pottery barn crib because that’s what we thought we needed for good quality. We learned this time around that is not true! This crib is much sturdier than what we had purchased for our first. Aesthetic: I have high standards for quality furniture that fits a high end/ luxury aesthetic. Delta Children’s fit the bill! My only qualm would be the delta children’s logo on the front of the crib. We aren’t logo people, but this is absolutely not a deal breaker for us! It’s small and barely noticeable at first glance. Would purchase again! Interested in exploring other delta options.
