Design Toscano Catch of the Day Grand Bear Sculpture

Beautiful realistic looking bear. Got this for my husband for Father’s Day to put near the pond. The way he placed it is perfect and if you came upon it, you’d think it was real. Top notch quality not doubt 5 star item HOWEVER… I think this one slipped passed quality control. Very disappointed That the fish were not finished. They are completely white, devoid of any coloring whatsoever. Seeing we have goldfish and koi mix, we’re going to paint them but not a project we were looking to take on when purchasing this. First photo is catalog, second and third outs. You’ll notice bear is solid color without lighter hair around muzzle which is coloring fish should have been. Think they missed a step in painting before this one hit the box. If it weren’t for this, it’s a definite 5 but unfortunate since this was a big purchase for me.

A beautiful piece we have next to our waterfall. My son gave us this and we love it. We have had it quite awhile and it is faded. Is there a paint we can use on it? This is the second one we have had because of fading. Please send ideas. Thank you.

We love this bear. Looks great over our dry creekbed; we sometimes forget it's there and are a little surprised. Everyone who comes to our house falls in love with it. Only thing we are going to change is the color of the fish. The fish in both paws is a light orange color; looks more like a coi fish, so we are going to paint it to look more like a salmon. This came carefully wrapped and in great condition.

At the edge of the pond, just off the deck, we have full view of our fishing partner whenever we enjoy the fresh air! He fit perfectly on the rocks, allowing the fish to touch the water. Details make him realistic looking. And he is not frightening looking, just a young bear having breakfast!

Love this piece. Great looking, so authentic, details spectacular, fits perfectly at my pond. Too bad you require more characters, ruins the ease of writing a review. If you don't want it that way, well then....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an electric transformer that is right by my driveway. It was an eyesore. I added stacked blocks around the transforer and added plants and some large lava rocks, then put my bear on top of the transformer. I am part Seneca Indian and the bear is my totem so he fits us perfectly!

Silly how even I (who placed him there) has to take a 2nd look each time - thinking that he is Real! lol Not just the size or the pose, but the fur and eyes Also look So REAL. (And its not just the "look", but also the way he is made - and shipping safety, for that mater.) I am very happy and proud of this purchase!! Thank You Toscano.

The bear looks awesome, and we get lots of compliments on it, but being made of resin, it's very light weight and feels fragile. We ended up drilling a hole in the bottom of the bear and added sand to it or else I guarantee it would have blown over and broken. The fish the bear is holding had their tails chipped off just moving it around but luckily it was in the back and not noticable.

Put it in my watefall. Looks real. Have a lot of comments on it

I received my fishing bear over a year ago. He is still "fishing" next to the waterfall in my garden in the woods. He is durable, colorful and attracts attention from everyone who visits. He has survived a "tumble" into the pond when he was "upset" be a raccoon trying to take the fish away, I guess.

So realistic. I have bought several yard statues from Toscano. Loved them all.

The bear was exactly as advertised and gives a great personality to our water feature. Everyone loves him!

I love this adorable bear. The size is perfect, and it's going to look great when I complete my yard project -- which will have a large, deep creek bed with a bridge over it and lots of boulders around it--one of which will have the bear perched on top. This will be in a mountain setting, so it's perfect. My disappointments with the resin sculptures include: fading in the sun, brittleness (they are hard and hollow and will shatter if dropped on a hard surface; one of the fish was broken inside the box during shipment of this item), and cost. They are not as expensive as plaster, concrete, or bronze, for sure. But, they are a little high for something that breaks or chips easily and whose paint fades or wears off. Being lightweight, it's also easy for someone to carry off. I will find a way to glue it to a boulder. I know it will get lots of second looks from passing cars and pedestrians.

The Bear looks great but the fish not so great. Very great brown bear but all the " baby " bears are black, please come up with some " cute " baby brown bears to go with Ma-Ma

I LOVE this bear! (Although, it scares me each morning when I open my blinds to the backyard and see this Bear hanging over the pool!) The bear is overlooking a part of the pool that juts out and when we turn on the waterfalls, it looks like the bear is taking the fish right out of a stream! Couldn't be happier :)

I am in the process of building a pond and this bear is the perfect addition. From a short distance he is very realistic.

The bear catching fish statue is,hands down, the best feature I have ever put by my backyard pond. Everyone who has seen it remarks how perfectly to scale it is.

This first bought product looks so real that I have bought 6 more!
