From full mane to muscular haunches, our guardian lion statues are cast in quality designer stone resin so that a pair of these two-and-a-half foot tall animal statues is quite fitting flanking an entryway or garden gate. Positioned on a plinth base with classical details, our classic animal statue is available only at Design Toscano. Although I had to wait a couple months to receive my pair of lions (back-ordered), it was well worth waiting. They look very regal in my front yard, guarding my home. They seem to be sturdy and substantial and VERY cute. They arrived in carefully packed shipments with lots of styrofoam and bubble wrapped packaging.

They are lightweight, but have not blown over during high winds and thunderstorms. We are an Italian family, plus he is a Leo the Lion! Normally, one puts these in the front yard by the entrance, but I put them in back on our patio, so he can stare at them, while having a drink and a cigar, after a hard day’s work.

We bought 3 of these and are very happy with the overall detailed design/ appearance of the statues. Not as happy with the construction. The resin casts are thinner than expected. There are actually thin gaps where the lion is attached to the plinth. Light shines through. We thought resin would be dyed but they are painted and there are spots where the finish is chipped away. Being outdoors, they will definitely need to be repainted after a time due to exposure.
