Design Toscano The Veiled Maiden Sculptural Bust

The size was exactly what I was expecting, but unfortunately, this statue barely shows the maiden’s face through the veil. You can barely make out even her nose. Definitely not what it looks like in the catalogue. I’ve waited a long time to get this statue, and I am very disappointed in this purchase.

This is identical to the two I purchased in the past. I purchased one for a Christmas gift which should be illegal to sell (from another website). What came looked nothing like what I got! I went back to Toscano and got what I expected! Thank you Toscano! I love this sculpture!

My piece is quite beautiful. I was expecting it to be made of resin but it feels like unfinished ceramic. As such, the colour is a little more grey than I was expecting which makes the shadows a little deeper, making the veil a little less life-like. I was at Chatsworth in England some years ago and saw the veiled vestal virgin statue in the gallery there and I was amazed at how the veil looked like a veil and not just a piece of statuary. My piece has not achieved that but it is still beautiful.

It arrived well packaged and protected. The picture doesn't do it justice. This is a gorgeous piece. I highly recommend this product.

This has been one of my favorite pieces since I was a child and saw it for the first time at the MIA. I always loved it. One day when doing some research on it after seeing at the museum, I discovered that Design Toscano carried a reproduction. I was thrilled at the thought of owning it. The price was good, the reviews were good. Delivery was delayed, but worth the wait. She sits on my mantle with a white rabbit and HoTai. I am so happy.

Absolutely stunning! After seeing this bust all over Instagram, I knew I had to have it. I am beyond happy with my purchase.

I have a LOT of statuary from Design Toscano and from Santini. They are all made with Carrara marble dust & resin. This one is not. It is very light weight, feels like it's hollow and the base certainly is. It also has gray shading. Not at all what I expected, but I suppose I did not read the description well. However it is nice, just not of the quality that the Carrara/resin ones are.

I just received mine today, and it’s a very beautiful piece the face definitely looks more prominent in photos but still pretty, only problem I found is some of the flower petals on the crown were broken, I thought to just glue them back on but they were in the wrapping or box so it was shipped out broken to begin with. It’s a shame really.

I was looking for a replica of this for months and was so glad to finally find one! It looks so good with my decor and people who visit also love it. Other people said it looks really cheap but I don’t agree. It just doesn’t look “aged” like other vintage statues do but this doesn’t claim to be vintage.

I’m so happy with my purchase. I’ve been looking for her for a couple months, I couldn’t believe the quality when it arrived. Beautiful sculpture with fine detail, looks even better in person. It arrived within a couple days of my order. Very happy, would order from here again.

Oh this is so, so beautiful. Larger than I imagined really. Didn't really pay attention to measurements prior to ordering. it's gorgeous! This fits in my house wonderfully. This is also great gift for anyone!

I bought this to accent a votive piece that I bought. The Veiled Maiden bust was just perfect! The whole process was easy and I am super pleased!

I was debating on this as I've read mixed reviews. I've always loved this type of statue. I roam around old cemeteries taking pictures and this reminds me of the intricate works I've seen. Got this home and was impressed with the weight and the pedestal. The look itself was more of a light grey giving it a creepy look. I was hoping for an off white to resemble marble giving it more class. This looks more like a Halloween decoration. Maybe I can paint it? The face is not as prominent as others I have seen posted here. Maybe different batching/mold? The nose is very slender with one of the veil creases hanging off it taking away from the facial features. It would have been much nicer if the veil hung to both sides versus down the nose itself. On the fence. I don't want to return it. I think I need to put some time into it to paint it. Once it's more white-ish, I think I'll appreciate it more.

I have bought a few things from Design Tuscano, and I love the stuff I have purchessed, but I bought the veiled maiden, and when I received it, it was dirty. So dirty I had to scrub it and soak it for days to get it clean. Its great now, but it was alot of work. I will still shop here because the products are outstanding.
