Design Toscano Wing of Icarus Sculptural Metal Wall Frieze

It is pure metal. Nicely crafted. Love this piece, received as a b-day gift from the family. I was considering it for awhile. I love it. If you like it just get. It’s substantial size but not as big as it appears in the pictures in my opinion. Definitely take measurements. It’s light enough to hang but requires Using a level as the holes for hanging are each side of the upper corners, or could add a framing wire. Lovely piece don’t hesitate it’s worth every penny!

I used the decor that the picture displays and it's even way prettier in person! Great price for a great piece...I like the wing decor and this is definitely a fav! Vrru sturdy and good quality...Don't think twice, you'll love it!

I had a wall of wings, birds in flight, and heart with wings so this was a mesmerizing addition! It is one of those pieces that just kinda pulls you into it so great for meditation and taking a moment away from it all. Was not expecting the background to be as dark as it is based on the catalog picture. It is black though it works just fine.

We were unaware of the streetlight yellow color that is very obvious between the wing feathers. Just not worth the price paid for this one. We usually love everything bought from Design Toscano, but this purchase, no. The quality of it and the yellow coloring - it should only cost $50...not $130. Disappointed.

This thing looks amazing in pictures but looks cheesy up close. The board the wing’s attached to looks like someone smeared paint thinner on it and a lot of the “feathers” were bent outwards. Definitely smaller then I imagined even though the dimensions were listed were correct. I’m kinda sad this cost so much and looks Hobby Lobby cheap!

Delivery was fast. The metal wall art looks just stunning in my living room, and is quite the conversation peice! I only wish the back board was painted completely as there is yellow visible from scant areas. I am very pleased with this piece!! Thanks Toscano!!

Exactly how I hoped it would look. Some of said they didn't like the green in part of the wing, but I like it very much because it helps give the piece even more depth. It's one of those pieces people will think you've always had it because it blends right in if you have an earth tone decor in the room.

The background behind the wing is left a golden yellow color which helps the wing stand out. The feathers are quite detailed. I'm not sure why people think it is small if any attention was paid to the listed dimensions.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We hung it over the fireplace. The fireplace has a black door with black glass. We recently retiled the fireplace brick with white marble tiles. The mantle top is black granit with a little green, complimenting the green in the wing.

I really fell in love with this piece and had to have it. The quality is very good and it is beautiful, but I was very disappointed with the size. It is not as big as you would assume by the photo or the price. I should have paid more attention to the dimensions.

I finally got it in and it was quick shipping. I have read some reviews saying that it is museum quality but I don't think it is. I was surprised that I got it not damaged due to there is no real packing in the box. It would be better if it was mounted on wood but it is metal and seeing it in person you can tell it is painted and they painted around the wing and not behind it so you can see a yellow coming through. After noticing it I can see it now in the pic on the website.The wing itself is nicely done a bit more green than I thought it was going to be but overall a really nice piece. I do think it is a little overpriced for it and wished that it was bigger and better painted on the metal base.

i just received the Wing of Icarus Sculptural Metal Wall Frieze via UPS about 30 minutes ago. I had no idea what to expect, as some of the online reviews were not so favorable. Some said the piece was too small; some said it had unsightly dents in it; and a couple said it looked cheap (my words). When I opened the box, I literally gasped when I unwrapped it --- it is so very beautiful and quite artistic. It looks like a museum piece. There are some dents and slight imperfections, but I think they make it look more handmade and authentic. The piece doesn't look small at all - it's exactly the size specified in the ad (I was anticipating that it would look smaller than pictured). It's a great value for $129. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

This is a beautifully handcrafted piece, but is small in size.

I found the concept intriguing so I ordered the piece even though I was not sure about the actual color from the photo. The actual piece is overall oil-rubbed bronze color with some green patina on the feathers. It is very dramatic, beautifully made, and so unusual. I have it hung over a trestle table that has feather like carvings on the legs, producing great resonance. I expect to get many positive comments about it from guests.

Package was damaged upon arrival, but product was not ruined.

It came in on time, looked exactly like what we saw on the website (sometimes colors can be off when ordering online, this was not)

The sculpture looks exactly like the photo. I am very happy with it. The wing is beautiful. The colors are exactly what I wanted. Upon close inspection one may see small dents but they are not noticeable at a reasonable viewing distance. I am happy I ordered this and was lucky the photo exactly matched the real thing!
