@mrsmaego On the third day of Christmas… I’m bawling my way through this beautiful book trying to read it out loud to Margaux. 😭😭😭 I’ve been trying to find it for months, but wanted to buy in person from a store (because I have heard that helps the authors more) and it has been sold out at every target I’ve been to! (A great problem to have!). Well v_coberete surprised me and hunted it for Millie and I just can’t stop crying over it. PLEASE, if you are a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher, babysitter, have contact with children in any way… PLEASE get this book for the children in your life and read it frequently. Wear out the pages. Know it by heart. Keep it in your daily rotation. It is as important for your children as it is for mine- if not more. My children are embracing and loving diversity in our daily life, and the world they live in needs to work hard to do the same. We don’t know what we don’t know. When we know better, we can do better. Let’s create a culture of inclusivity that values the dignity and differences of EVERY human life. Follow theluckyfewofficial and different.a.great.thing.to.be ❤️❤️❤️ and thank you, Heather Avis, for working so hard on behalf of all our children. #theluckyfew #differentagreatthingtobe #downsyndrome #downsyndromeawareness #diversity #inclusion #raisinginclusivekids

Illustrations and rhyming text introduce Macy, whose conduct and bearing point to a kinder world where differences are celebrated and embraced.Book Synopsis
This joyful rhyming book encourages children to value the different in all people, leading the way to a kinder world in which the differences in all of us are celebrated and embraced. Macy is a girl who's a lot like you and me, but she's also quite different, which is a great thing to be. With kindness, grace, and bravery, Macy finds her place in the world, bringing beauty and laughter wherever she goes and leading others to find delight in the unique design of every person. Children are naturally aware of the differences they encounter in everyday life and relationships. They just need to be given tools to understand and appreciate what makes us different, permission to ask questions about it, and eyes to see and celebrate it in themselves as well as in those around them.About The Author
