Dimplex Prism Linear Electric Fireplace

I have had ours for five years. Looks good. However the flame image is quite dim with normal day or evening lighting. Only when the room is dark, it looks good. Also the front glass is too reflective causing visual interference with the flames.

Excellent product. Very high-quality for the money.

We decided on an electric fireplace to continue our efforts to go all electric and reduce our fossil fuel use as we are 100% renewable. We had a little used space and this filled it perfectly.

We honestly just leave it on and change the color periodically. There’s not much heat output that’s why i gave 4 stars

I had mine flush-mounted in my existing fireplace. It is wonderful. The colors are so pretty and a lot of heat blows out when you need it. I love the setting that changes colors.

Installing it correctly was the only slightly challenging part because I tend to be a perfectionist sometimes. The heater heats up our living room, where our old fireplace was, even with a lot of windows in the room. We don't like the smell of burning wood in our house so this Electric heater is perfect for us.

Have this in my livingroom just love it. Everyone i worked with were very helpful.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am really happy with this electric fireplace. The looks are fantastic and I love that you can adjust the color schemes to fit your mood and room. For the power consumption you can’t ask for much more as far as the heat provided. I saw a number of reviews before ordering that indicated they were disappointed in the heat that this supplied. Understand that this is not a real fireplace. The heating function is pretty admirable considering it is designed for a 15 amp, 120 volt circuit (standard outlet). Install was pretty straight forward. The instructions are simple and easy to follow and this unit can be either surface mounted, partially recessed, or completely recessed. It can be hardwired or comes standard with a regular grounded plug. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to improve the ambience of a room and add a bit of supplemental heat with ease.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are really impressed with this Prism Series 34" Linear Electric Fireplace! We had originally planned to just hang it, but when we saw how nice this was we decided to install it built in and hardwired. The flames look like real fire and the beautiful prism effect, along with the color choices is just mesmerizing. We love how you can use the heat option or not, so you can use this all year round to add ambiance to the room all four seasons. The remote control shows a large LED display right on the fireplace so you can see all your settings from across the room. From your couch you can set an on/off timer, cycle through and change the color scheme, turn the heat on or off or raise/lower it. Even when using the heat option, the unit stays cool to the touch, which is a great safety feature if you have small children. This is a high quality electric fireplace and we are so happy with it!

It does not come with a template, but you have little wiggle room when installing flush with the wall, so it was okay. The flame is beautiful, and it kicks out a lot of great heat. You can set a temperature and it will automatically shut off when it reaches it. There is also a timer function for the entire unit. Some reviewers said the glass is too reflective, but it looks great to me where we have it. The glare is even less noticeable in person.

I really like this fireplace. It provides the ""look"", without the need for ""heat"". Features are pretty cool, display is the best ""fake flame"" I've seen. The crystal clear stone that's provided needs a little ""color addition"". I threw in some amber and green fire pit glass, and it really comes to life... Great little fireplace.

I have both Dimplex Models BLF3451 and BLF5051. Because I recently gave the 5051 a very negative review I thought I should also review its smaller version the 3451. Fortunately the two models have little in common. The 3451 is an effective small room heater with an attractive flame but it has only one heat setting and a slightly noisy fan. The LED lights are not overly bright in a dark room and importantly, the thermostat works as it should: the heat cycles on and off within 1 degree of the set temperature. The 3451 does share one design flaw or oversight with the 5051: the flame will not turn off when the heat turns off but it must be turned off manually. Overall it is a very good product and should please most buyers.
